cw8: I just upped the pledge to $140, just paid an extra $95 including shipping. The sting! The sting of a big hole in the wallet.
I... I am going to have to do the same (excluding shipping). It is all your fault! I have to blame someone, right? :)

Faenrir: This is stupid. Publishers eat up to 70% of the money, why would you go and find them when you can get 4M$ on kickstarter AND get to keep around 70% of the money from other sales.
Especially when one considers the trouble Obsidian has gotten into with publishers in the past in terms of deadlines and Metacritic score minimums...
Yeah...if it can mean they have more time to take care of the bugs it's all for the better. They have great ideas and can make pretty good games...ofc often with bugs due to being rushed.

I must admit I too upped mine to that tier. Kind of hate thinking of purchasing a game for that price, but I actually look at it as an investment in the type of game I like to play that no longer gets made. Instead they are focused on that 3D camera and FPS type games. Do publishers know there are other types of gamers out there? I'm sure there are enough of us to warrant a decent game budget on. Not to mention most of us that are interested in those types of games don't have to ask mommy or daddy to purchase it for them.

Hey, at least you don't have to pay shipping which is a hefty $20 hehe

Ahhh, thank God they got rid of the idea of Intelligence determining damage, that made no sense at all.
Well maybe it's the knowledge of the enemy's anatomy that makes it easier to hit critical spots. Unlike my old Character "UghUgh" Who couldn't talk properly but smashed everything into the ground.
Looks like the ship date is end of the year, Winter 2014. Hoping the Beta is at least 2-3 months before. Hope they release a gameplay demo walkthrough soon.

I hope the environment/area art assets in the game will be available at higher resolutions than these preview images, especially for small interiors (so they don't end up surrounded by a sea of black and/or upscaled on high-resolution displays).

The game seems to be shaping up pretty well overall.

Romances are confirmed to not be in PoE. Biodrones everywhere revolt.

I can certainly live without 'em. I'm more interested in friendship paths, anyway. Hope PE's companions are up to snuff in that regard.

Bummer I was so looking forw.... Wait a second, I usually love to solo games anyway. So f*ck romances :D

That's really great news. Even if I don't mingle in that kind of things in my playthroughs, I find these extremely awkward. I am really glad they focused the "endgame" on something else.
I want companions to have a good back story and some meaningful interaction with the player's character. But as far as romances go, I don't care if they're in or not. Like Potzato, I tend to find them awkward (usually to the point of hilarity).
I expect someone will try to mod in romances anyway, once the game is out. It wouldn't feel like a complete IE successor without a http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/11296/saerileth-vs-chloe style debate. ^_^
It would be nice if they also made these environments scale up to 8K resolutions. With 4K resolution coming out, they should at least be able to scale up to that.

The no romance thing is extremly great news in my mind. As others have said they are just silly, and if I wanted to have romance in a game I would go play Sims, Second Life, WoW, or Leisure Suit Larry.
