Funny you should say that. During the brouhaha, when GOG first announced exclusive integration for all GOG web installers with Galaxy (they changed it to the Classic/Galaxy thing later), the thread was literally downvoted to hell. It was the first time, a thread started by a blue (GOG staff) was greyed out in the forum.

tinyE: Like that asshole did with his Virginia campus shooting game? Made the horrible thing, which of course disgusted and outraged everyone, and then announced he'd take the download down as soon as he got a certain amount of money.
Or Uwe Boll, who said he would stop making movies if enough people paid him to do so.

But in the end, luckily, it was sufficient to plug the glaring hole in the German tax system that he abused to get his movies financed.

Link to the thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/offline_installers_with_an_option_to_install_gog_galaxy

It was a major shitstorm.

tinyE: But since you mentioned it, how many games do you have?

Yay, it's THIS thread again.

Yes, I know I'm going to get downrepped by the entitled whingers again. Knock yourselves out.

deja65: Have you maybe seen the option to change to the classic installer through the more button?
Just to be clear, if I click on the MORE button and select CLASSIC INSTALLERS, will the file contain the Galaxy client? Will I still need to uncheck the Galaxy client option?

The Classic Game Installers are different from the Galaxy Game Installers. The latter has Galaxy as a default option, the former doesn't have the option to install Galaxy at all.

To be certain (because, apparently, there are/have been situations where the site can fuck up and show the title "Classic Installers" while linking to the galaxy ones), look at the linked URL, if it says "galaxy_installer" (using The Witcher as an example: en1galaxy_installer1), it has Galaxy, if it only says "installer" (en1installer1) it does not contain Galaxy.

Whingers, maybe. Entitled, no. Paying customers trying to NOT get something for free. Kinda the opposite of entitlement.
I think there is already a discussion here: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/please_remove_gog_galaxy_installers

I notice that the TRY GOG GALAXY button uses that ugly sky blue while the MORE button uses that wonderfully eye-catching drab grey.

The installers bundled with Galaxy have _(g) in their names, at the end. So watch for that too, if you backed-up some installers without knowing about this inclusion of Galaxy.

Examples:
setup_shadowrun_returns_1.2.7_(a)_(10017)_(g).exe
setup_shadowrun_returns_1.2.7_(a)_(10017)_(g)-1.bin
