F4LL0UT: Frankly I'm rather expecting that we've already seen pretty much the worst stuff in the first trailer and many people will go "why did we all go nuts when this was announced?" later on.

jefequeso: That's very possible as well.

Funnily enough, I'd say this old NES-era arcade game is far worse than anything I've seen from Hatred: https://youtu.be/k26yhWuCsS8
Had to +1 for the memories, Chiller was an old classic at an arcade near my house, & yes there were complaints, lots of them.

I love the physics and the chaotic feel, but I wish there was some justification in the killing. Like, combine this with psychological monsters from survival-horror games like Cry of Fear, and I might actually buy this.

Worst part for me is having to do the executions to get health back. I don't want to get up close and personal.
Thanks, I hadn't seen this, much appreciation for posting. :)

The moment you said NES and Arcade, I knew you were going to talk about Chiller.
Yup, pretty much what I expected.
Yay, Derpstrucfail. Who's doing the review now that Jim is gone?
high rated
As it turns out, I'm actually baffled how Hatred earned one of the only few Adults Only ratings in ESRB history.
As I said in another thread: ESRB has an online form for self-reporting. The ESRB didn't have anyone look it over and assign a rating. The developers got that rating by choosing "very" for every survey question. As in, it's "very" likely the rating is an intentional component of their marketing strategy.

That's the only thing that kind of interests me about the game. The level of destruction.

Not really keen on the whole tone, though. It doesn't seem nearly self-aware enough of its own stupidity, and comes across as some emo 16 year old's fan fiction rather than purposely irreverant or profoundly macabre. I just find it kind of disgusting rather than potentially entertaining.

Those physics, though. I'd love to see the next Alien Shooter / Zombie Shooter game employ that level of destruction.

Fesin: Yup, pretty much what I expected.
Same here. Probably won't bother with it.

sounds about right. take away the "controversial" nature of the subject matter and you get a bland medicore shooter and to think this is what people were getting all worked up over not being sold here? god damn the way people were acting over it you think it was the next Dues ex..

Yup, somebody in their marketing department sure knew what they were doing.

Oooh, that sounds kinda cool. Having some really fucked up monsters to fight, but occasionally getting a "glimpse into reality" and seeing that they are all actually just civilians/cars/etc.
And having an internal monologue that actually gives us more insight of the deranged psyche of the protagonist - that certainly sounds like an appealing game.
Tracido was kicked from the Steam Hatred group for being a douche, no surprise to see him being a douche elsewhere.

something interesting could be made out of that...
These executions are no worse than the first Manhunt. Looks like a great cathartic experience, so far at least.

Nah it was all the cunts like you that earned the reactions and I'm glad you did, I'm coming right back very shortly. :)
