We need more games like this. Just as a middle-finger to all the hipster indies who think video games need to be some profound art-form tackling social issues, just games that are unashamedly games.
So it's basically a fancy Postal?
I wouldn't mind playing that.
looks profound.
Developers are Polish too, even better might be on gog
Looks good to me from the video.
Won't mind giving it a try.

This is like attacking Terry Gilliam because you think, because he made Zero Theorem that it somehow means there's less likely to be an Expendables 4 - There's room for many genres and styles!

Indeed. I actually laughed at absurdity of the trailer and I would probably enjoy this game as much as Dear Esther.

So... Jackie Estacado + John St John + Postal dude?

I'm sorry but this game looks dumb as does the postal games and it's shit like this that catches the attention of those anti violence in videogame crusaders...

Edit: Seriously, i was watching the trailer again and this is garbage. Postal at least has the excuse of its silliness, shooting an unarmed person begging for his/her life is psychopath stuff. AND THIS IS COMING FROM SOMEONE THAT ENJOYED PLAYING MANHUNT.

"'Hipster"? Seriously, you are at a forum for vintage PC games. What can be more 'hipster' than that?

But about the game, it's death count will hardly be any different from any other action games. The only thing that make it stick out is that it doesn't try to justify the kills by making the victims appear as a threat to the player. So by abandoning the troopes and showing the slaugter for what it is, the game is actually more "profound art-form" than most other action games.
Oh boy, this is going to stir up a shitton of hornets' nests. Some are already discussing the nature of the dev teams t-shirts. I guess the absurd is equal to the game's nature. Anyhow, i doubt i'd like to play that, my misanthropy years are far behind me.

That trailer gave me a boner. When's the game coming out ?
It's silly when the makers of Hatred claims to "go against the trends" by making a violent video game, when the majority of todays games are based on some sort of violence.

The social commentary in modern games that they find ever so threatening is only taking up a very small fraction of the indie scene.

About committing virtual mass murder in games: I remember having constructing levels in Red Alert solely to murder a bounch of non-fighting characters. Sure, it has some basic attraction. But at the same time, it is something that makes me feel a bit pathetic, somehow.
well, they just went and served the media and idiots a "games are making people violent" excuse right on a god damn silver platter.

I tend to do things like this in open games, but the idea of a game where it's sole purpose is to do this is not sitting right with me. Interesting.

When I saw this video I was "What the actual fuck...". I mean I've seen some bad shit but this crosses the line. Several times.

I am not against violence in video games in any way at all but this, this is just sick. Especially in these days when gamers are treathening other gamers to their lifes (and also other innocent people in case of the Utah State University incident).

The first thing that comes in my mind when I saw this trailer was American History X. Not because of the white power extremism or similar but because of the extreme violence. I don't know about other people, but me myself just feel sick of just thinking of certain scenes from that movie. Imagine then this game which is filled with it.

Also if this game gets released the gaming will take a step back in the campaign of showing that video games aren't that violent that media makes it be. I am not usually that kind of person but I would say that this game MIGHT actually create violence, since it's so... extreme? I mean sure, there has been similar games (Postal, Manhunt etc.) but this game is on a totally new level. Postal was a bit silly and in Manhunt you at least only killed bad guys (right?).

TL:DR I feel that this game is a bad thing.
