Well, Cop/Doctor is the strongest combination, I think. But scum knows that too and may have chosen either a Godfather or a strongman, to offset the most likely town roles. According to the rules, they only get one PR though. And a cop can still find two scum, even with a Godfather possibly being in play. So I say we should definitely get a Cop.

The second PR is more difficult. If scum didn't choose godfather but chose Strongman, A Doctor would be virtually useless (until the Strongman is lynched). Same with the Tracker/Watcher. However, I think it is more likely that they chose a Strongman or Godfather than a Ninja. Of course this is WIFOM and they may have decided otherwise. Still I say we take a Watcher.

So:
vote Cop
vote Watcher

I'd have thought Ninja and Godfather were the obvious choices for scum, with Strongman being an unlikely curve ball attempt.

This smells.

I know we aren't supposed to vote for lynch yet...

Bookwyrm627: wat?
Sorry. One scum can be found. For a moment I thought we had 3 scum total.

Why? I think Strongman, with a possible Doctor around, would be stronger than a Ninja. If you disagree, please explain why the Ninja is more likely than the Strongman.

Yes, that's what I thought. That's what smells.

LAMIST.
ALREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADY and we have a suspect for scum! I shall vote based on this!

Dear Lifthrasil, why did you think we had 3 scum total?

Though to be fair to Lift, I'm not sure where the thought that there are three scum came from either, even if we were playing with a most scummy Lift. My reason: the Scales of Justice setup page mentions that there are seven townies and two mafia. The fact he thought there were three mafiosos instead of two, while not entirely innocent, looks more like a honest mistake to me than it does look like mafia slipping up.

Hi flub!

Vote Cop

Vote Watcher
I like the whole Day 0 mechanic. Day 1 won't be really RVS, as we'll have prior posts to go through.

Unless my vote counting is wrong, these should be the current votes.
Cop - four votes
Watcher - three votes
Doctor - two votes
Roleblocker - one vote

A couple of notes before I settle down on a vote.

As for myself, I'm more interested in the Follow the Cop strategy. Yes, they could be sabotaged by a strongman, but until the strongman actually nails them, it would be decent protection? Cop is one of those roles that scared the living daylights out of scummy dedo and myself last game. Given that there are as much mafiosos as we were in the previous game (after SPF was killed off), I can tell that they too are panicking over the current results and for good reason.

And with the doctor, we have a good chance of getting a fairly well protected cop. Depending on this setup, the mafia may either pick Strongman, in an effort to overpower the doctor's protections before it is too late, or a godfather such that half of their rank remain low on the radar.

About the roleblocker, I can see him being a good weapon during the end-game after the strongarm is defeated. All it would take is a night without a kill, and for someone to come forward as roleblocker and admit they roleblocked this guy, and then it's over, unless the mafia actually took advantage of a WIFOM like this.

Hmm, Scales of Justice is one hard setup for fakeclaiming. With the only two town claims made public, any fakeclaims must be a gambit where the mafioso tries to convince us that the counterclaimer is mafia. I can see a gambit like this being played in the near end.

I haven't reprocessed from my previous thought that Roleblocker trumps Strongman. From that scenario, we have "Strongman beats Doctor, Godfather beats Cop, and Ninja beats Tracker + Watcher". Cop, Tracker, and Watcher are all investigative roles with varying levels of dodge-ability, while the Doctor has no investigation ability.

Knee-jerk reaction with "Strongman also beats Roleblocker" is that Strongman is still probably the weakest of the scum roles, since town is highly unlikely to select Doctor + Roleblocker, and both of those are roles that might be subject to mind games.

If I'm scum, I'm looking to block investigations. If the Doctor catches a kill, then so be it; it just means I need to out guess him better.

If this comes from scum!Lift, I have to assume it was deliberate. Per the page, scum chose their PR, so scum!Lift has recent data on his number of buddies.

Still a weird mistake to come from a town!Lift, especially considering the number of players, but he's been pretty clear about how he only has limited attention to spare.

This post bugs me. At least you pointed out the weaknesses in each of your arguments, I guess. :-/
I have to be away till tomorrow(like 16 hours or so from now) so I will read up and post then(have to do stuff now and just noticed the thread was open to all now) if that is ok with OP/everyone.

I'm still wondering whether to vote cop or watcher. I'll wait for more votes, but I'm leaning towards cop.
