No problem! I have no emotions!

ZFR: OK, give me an example of a post where you took Lift's words for granted. I can't find even that.
Well, he did so on D1, where he based town-read me and based his suspicion of flubb on mine (post 105). But that was, of course, before N1 and therefore before any investigation could have taken place. To claim now that that was 'mildly implying' my towniness really looks off, since there was no way for a Town-Cop to know my alignment at that point.

I didn't find anything on D2, which would fit Pookas description of mildly implying that I'm town by agreeing with me. The only thing that goes vaguely in that direction is that in post 245 Pooka stated that I agreed with him on the old 'this smells' post. But that doesn't imply in the least that I'm town.

@Pooka: could you please quote the post where you 'mildly implied' that I am town?
I would have believed him more if he said "Sorry I forgot to breadcrumb Lift", but him trying to show a breadcrumb where none exists is just too much. I can see someone screwing up, but to actually consciously think "how shall I breadcrumb my result? I know, I'll vaguely agree with him. That should work." No way cop decides to breadcrumb this way.

I might be tunneling now, trying to find a mistake in anything Pooka now says, but this is really too much. At this stage I think Pooka has to be the lynch anyway. Worst case we lynch a cop who'd have been NKed anyway and wouldn't have provided any more useful info, while at ghe same time definitely confirming Lift as Town/GF.

Everyone had the chance to voice their opinions after the claim, right?

Not an appeal to emotion--it would be if I was appealing to other people. But that was directed at Pooka, who has played against me.

Please explain the bolded part to me? I fail to follow your logic.

RedFireGaming: Well, I don't know that, since this is my first game.
True. Lets just say I was...wild. "Grasping at straws" would also work. In fact, a fellow player (Zeogold, who has made a successful career out of snowing people and playing them with incredible finesse in Secret Hitler) posted what he called the roadmap I and my fellow F were following.

If Pooka flips town, we'll know he really did investigate Lift, so he has to be Town or Godfather.

Ah, Icy. Thanks. Yeh, Lift can't be a regular goon if Pooka is cop. What if Pooka is Scum? Do you trust Lift or not?
If he is town, I think you or Book are next on the carpet.

I’ll rephrase what ZFR just said, if Pooka flips town we confirm Lift as Town or Scum...

Not really, while Lift doesnt get 100% cleared we still get some info. E.g. if we lynch mafia PR next, Lift gets confirmed Town.

Yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that if Pooka is lynched and flips Town we still don’t know what alignment Lift is. If I was scum and Pooka was lynched and confirmed as the cop and I knew Lift really was Town I would leave Lift alive to cause doubt of him Day 3 and kill someone else Night 2. Then if Town was fortunate enough to actually lynch Scum PR on Day 3 I would kill Lift that night.

So again at this point even if Pooka is telling the truth it means nothing unless we lynch the scum PR.
Okay. I mean bringing up him agreeing with me the Day before on D2. Other than that, I'm afraid I got nothing.

Also, lynching me today is a waste of a lynch. If I do live to see D3, you will know I am scum. So instead of giving Day 2 and Night 2 to the scum, try getting Day 2 away from scum. Hoo boy, will this game end well.

I agree with this statement. I think Pooka is perhaps scum, but--if he lives he's as good as eliminated already as D3's lunch. Therefore, as ZFR was one of the biggest pushers for Pooka's elimination

If you're truly the Town Cop why would you be alive tomorrow if you're not the lynch today? There's no way you would, and this screams LAMIST.

I also still would like an answer to my previous question to you. Also once you answer that question explain to me exactly why you think ZFR is scum.

That's literally the point. I am the town cop, so I wouldn't be alive tomorrow. And if I was scum pretending to be cop, being alive tomorrow means insta-lynch.

The cop is supposed to find scum, as well as clear Townies he investigated. I didn't need to investigate ZFR because I assumed he'd eventually come under fire, as he already was on the first day, so instead of investigating ZFR, I preferred to investigate Lift, who is in a better position even after his mistake.

Lift asked for why him, and this was my answer to him.
avatar
Lifthrasil: However, it is also possible that you actually are the Cop and did investigate me. But in that case I'm curious: why did you investigate me and not ZFR, who was your preferred target all over Day 1?
avatar
PookaMustard: I chose to investigate you because in truth, I wanted to be sure my read of you was correct. There was this nagging feeling that the people who said your "mistake" seemed LAMIST were correct in their assessment. Add to that that you fooled pretty much everyone in the Secret Hitler game smoothly. Therefore, if there was anyone I'd want cleared if town or lynched if scum, it was you. I didn't go for ZFR because I am still convinced he is scum.
This strategy of investigating someone with a Towny outlook often pays off for me. Either I found one of the most dangerous kinds of scum, or I can put my mind at ease by fully trusting this player.

----
Why I think ZFR is scum:
- Overeager since Day 0. He doesn't hesitate in finding the slightest slip to be "stinky" and LAMIST. [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_mafia_60_hmss_spectator/post20][20]
- Has pursued me for apparently appearing "busy" in my posts, ignoring that he too was appearing "busy" by the same standards.
- Despite knowing that I'd be nightkilled as a town cop, and not being nightkilled would mean I am scum, he reinstates his vote on me anyway, in an attempt to get a free town lynch.
- Building on the above, two days ago, he stated he didn't want to bring me to L-1 as it was "way too early" , yet he voted me some four or five hours ago (see 289), when Agent clearly said there were five days left before the deadline [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_mafia_60_hmss_spectator/post286][286]. If that isn't "way too early," I don't know what is.
