== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

TrueDosGamer: Which games were tested for multiplayer on GOG Galaxy?

You got a complete list that you guys tested?

Took a look at AVP. The gameplay didn't look so great. And it's not about the money I spent a good amount on the Winter sale already and one of the games I bought became free a few days later. So yeah I can wait.

Maybe they can bring ST: Elite Force 1, 2, and Quake 3 to the fold.
avatar
mike_cesara: Of course every game which requires Galaxy for multiplayer was tested : )
Some of them, like AvP, Rise of the Triad and beta of The Witcher Adventure Game were widely available for everyone who wanted to participate in tests.

For me AvP is still great game, single, multi as well as co-op.. Enjoyed the game just a few months ago, as much as in the past.

Personally I would love to see very first Moto Racer with working multiplayer. I had a great time playing with friends back in time.. But bringing back multiplayer to older games isn't easy task as you may already know. Especially with limited resources and unknown market, since many of us are older farts, preoccupied with their own lives and desires ; )

Surely, there is plenty to do. There are also things I don't like about Galaxy, but the team is working their tits off to make it better and I appreciate they're focusing rather on stability and optimization than new features.
Widely available meaning given to those who helped Beta test the mulitiplayer and yes quite the selection? ;)

Ahh MotoRacer former addict. I got this free with my Diamond Viper V330. It wasn't the full game but enough for me to get into it. I think the most annoying part was the CD check so I welcome Motoracer for online GOG Galaxy multiplayer DRM free.

Since you got Doc Brown's avatar. Curious do you have the BTTF game? - most likely a yes?

Or better yet did you snag yourself a Limited Edition Pepsi Perfect?

Damn it is single player only. Only recent game that I can think of was the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection since it was updated to run on Microsoft Gaming For Windows Live which shut down about a year ago and I still have the Steam keys for that went unplayed. Figuring people can get a game in very quickly would draw more players and still big enough of fan base for the old school arcade classics. It was on Steam so if Steam doesn't want to support it then GOG can steal it.

So I understand old farts not having enough time. I myself still got a crap load to clear out of the garage and stuff to sell off on eBay when I'm done and it's almost been a year of working on it.

Yes stability is most important or the whole ship goes down. As for the tits I'm starting to see milk everywhere on GOG now thanks to you Doc.

Looks like in about 4 hours I should have TROTT downloaded.

Well, participating in tests wasn't mandatory ; ) Keys were given to everyone who wanted anyway.

There will be more games with multiplayer at some point, taht's for sure. Perhaps even Moto Racer, as well as many other great games from the past.. But it all depends on how many of us are going to support those games. Older farts having differnet habbits and needs, you can't please everyone at the same time.

Well, I like dr Emmet L. Brown very much though I am not a big fan of point and click, however, I will grab a copy of the game for sure, in the future ; ) Still have some games to finish first, so I'm not in rush..

You're welcome, I strongly believe tits are even more important than stability ; )

I concur the warm bodily protrusions which once nourished us > than stability. ;P

One thing I noticed is when I was downloading a TROTT map editor file off GOG that's at max speed as soon as you sync a game for GOG Galaxy it begins downloading these updates for TROTT. Even though the GOG Galaxy update files for TROTT which aren't that big are maybe a couple hundred MB the download speed is only 50 KB/sec and the TROTT map editor I was downloading drops to 50KB/sec all of a sudden matching the same speed.

I did buy the new BTTF off Amazon but I didn't play the game yet. However I remember playing BTTF3 for the DOS a long time ago. Maybe Ocean released it. Just found it it was released from Konami.

I think it wasn't that great for some reason and seeing that video again now I remember why. Maybe nothing compares to watching the movie. I think it might have had the BTTF theme song though with Adlib Midi sound support. I just had a momentary flashback. I remember one part of the game I was on a horse trying to catch up to the train or something. I think I gave up on it because either it was too frustrating or just really bad. :)

Check at 2mins in. The dreaded horse sequence. Damn the sound was using the internal PC speaker no wonder it sounds horrible. I guess no sound card support was enabled.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRzCEPLqGl0

The Motoracer sampler game was fun testing on my Diamond Viper V330. Monster 3D Voodoo was a big thing then but I didn't have the dough to shell out on that quite yet and I was eying the Sound Blaster AWE 64 Value which thanks to the employee discount didn't knock off much but was the proudest sound card upgrade I made since the original Sound Blaster. The V330 was the first graphics card I actually paid for using the practically minimum wage I got at Fry's which laughably was 50 cents higher than another employee that started working there a few months before me. He was getting just $7 and I had $7.50. The fact I got 50 cents more even though it was chump change annoyed him slightly when he found out. I was still the more knowledgeable guy so I felt I was under paid enough but we became good buddies laughing it off after work about how sad it was how they were treating their employees. One guy that worked there for 2 years never got promoted once and was stuck at the same level as us just stocking the shelves while they hired outsiders directly to sales. I knew then and there that this wasn't going to be a long time gig.

mike_cesara: Since you didn't even bother to try Galaxy why bothering us? It was an very early alpha stage when I had some issues on XP, as far as I know Galaxy may work out of the box now.. XP is dying wheter you like it or not. Comparing outdated OS to Linux or Mac is simply ridiculous. In the next few years amount of active XP users will continue to shrink and judging by MS last moves, the base of Linux/Mac users will grow.
If you want less overbloated OS, I suggest or written entirely in asm [url=http://www.menuetos.net/]MenuetOS.
And to be honest, Galaxy still isn't best choice if you want to save as much resources as possible. You'd better write your own client : )
That being said I'm going to finish this conversation now, I'm sorry, I have other things to do. Have a good day!
DOC I tried Gog Galaxy I guess I didn't see this message.

Original installation actually wanted me to reboot but I had some files stored on the Ramdrive I needed to get off before I could consider rebooting.

Well it turned out you didn't need to reboot to run GOG Galaxy after installation despite what it said.

It did download some extra files from GOG's servers before launching.

Also downloaded TROTT and installed it but I didn't see any games hosted.

Is there a way to determine how many games are being hosted on GOG Galaxy per game?

That would be a little helpful way to determine which games I should bother launching so I could join.

As for XP's numbers only time will tell but I have a feeling the numbers would eventually stabilize and still be a decent figure even if not percentage wise in 5 years despite MS dropping support.

The bigger problem for Microsoft is if Windows 10 doesn't absorb all the Windows 7 and 8 users into the fold as fast as they'd like and using DX 12 as the lure I think Windows 7 will become the next stubborn XP and a nasty thorn in Microsoft's derrière for a long time. It's going to take a lot longer for Windows 7 64-bit to become obsolete. Only dropping support and making users worry about no more security updates will stir the pot some. But as long as manufacturers are willing to pump out Win 7 titles even after MS drops support it will confirm its place as the 64-bit undying XP.

If new Linux and MAC OSX versions constantly get updated and released does this also not impact the Linux and MAC OS X GOG games from being compatible or eventually not run similar to a newer version of Windows might break compatibility at some point?

Would Linux GOG games that worked on Linux Mint 1.0 still work on the latest Linux Mint 17.3?

Maverick89: Any news about the next update for Galaxy? You need to improve Galaxy, Steam can't be only one.
Haven't tested my first network game yet but for 1 years worth of work it looks okay interface wise.

I guess you can't rush a good thing but hopefully they'll use some of my ideas in due time.

Being able to see how many players are playing in what games in GOG Galaxy would be helpful.

But getting the right games to draw players fast like a fast food chain in and out constant cycle keeps the action going.

I recommended they snag that Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection and bring that to GOG Galaxy. I'm dying to network play those classics and that would draw in a bunch of former GFWL players and some Steam players too.

Once Microsoft's GFWL shut down there's been this black hole and GOG could capitalize on this.

GFWL online interface and match up before it went down.

I think all the mammals should know how important they are ; )

Downloading speed sometimes slows down for some reason. Personally never faced this issue. Files on servers aren't compressed yet and updates can take some time anyway. Well, that's why it's called beta I guess.

BTTF is on my wishlist, so will get it and give a try someday, but I'm not expecting anything like the movie to be honest..

Can't remember now what exactly was my first voodoo. I do remember it was hell of money here.. ; )

Galaxy gets small updates on mondays usually, never asked me to reboot. Could be some windows dependecies I guess.

Servers are up (see attached pic), not many multiplayers around I guess.

Of course there will be XP users for a long time. Still have a working machine with '98 on it.. Hard to say how many people will get win10, definitely I'm not going to..

Some of Mint 1.0 games may still work on 17.3, but I don't think all of them to be honest. Surely compatibilty might break at some point, but I don't think OSX or Linux updates are as much fickle as Windows ; )

At least the BTTF (NEW) one looks better than the DOS one. :o

Hmmm strange here is what I see for TROTT MP.

No Servers showing.

Is there some sort of Direct IP Address I can enter? I see that as an option.

Doesn't look bad at all, however, after few minutes I don't really mind how big pixels are ; )
Are you sure game isn't blocked with firewall? You can use direct IP if you know someone who hosts the game.
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I'd suggest making the top-most menu (Store, Library, Profile, Friends, Cart) in Galaxy press-to-activate like everything else in the program. Right now all you have to do is move your mouse over them, which I personally find a little irritating :/

It is most likely a firewall issue, had the exact same thing, but never tried to fix it as I don't really play online much. Allowed the game through the firewall and now I see the servers.
Anyone have any tips to fix the "SERVER PROBLEM" issue?
