The game starts, and it began snowing... this was a bad sign... Elves without long passes... doable sure, but... very risky.

Still, we took this not as a bad omen, but as a coincidence. The smells of the halfing cook and the good beer babes cheered our spirits.

We suffered a blitz, when we were on the receiving end.

We failed a pick up, an elf, failing to pick up, causing our first block to give us two red dice.

On turn 2, we lost the ball, and it was picked up by a minataur.

All hope is lost. But.... we will fight to the death.

On turn 3, an elf catcher decided to take one go for it, and knocked himself out of the field.

on turn 4, the minataur smashed -1 str on a lineman.. My apocathary was useless! causing it to become nigging injury instead...

It was a war of attrition... we just need to hold out for 8 turns, and we will win. Forming a tight formation, we went on the defence. Kicking the ball to the midfield, the elves kicker missed due to the snow, and it landed on the elves side of the field...

The minataur gets the ball. A bad omen once again.
Turn 9! Miraculeous luck! from a red skull to defender down one dice block, a beastman is knocked out!

it's 10 vs 10, and a glimmer of hope appeared on the elves team.

The elves eventually had the minataur surrounded in all 9 squares. It would be a continous war of pushing shoving and blocking.

When mighty catcher Kanonion Tunuviel did a mighty heroic act. Both down. In a heroic action, Kanonion wore a luche mask, jumping up and face faulting himself and the minataur into the ground, the ball bounced, and the nearby catcher gets the ball!

Yes! it's time to go! bring the ball away!

a second linesman get's sent off the field due to a KO...

Right, we can run an elf there to catch the ball... If it bounces out of the field, no one can get it. Grab the ball, elf lineman..

Um, not much to add to such a summary.

Short side of my story:
That fireball hurt, a lot. Only good thing to come from this match was saving the minotaur, this was he'll be lvl 4 at the end of the next game.
But from a sure, but slow push, my game just fell apart from that moment on. The halfling chef just added more problems by stealing my rerolls. Good thing my beloved minotaur has Pro.

Dreamouse, where are you?

I'm looking forward to seeing how you plan to spend 760K in inducements....

One question though, the minotaur has Claw and Pro, what would be the next best upgrade?

Personally i tend to take guard as first skill up for big guys. Although mino has access to mutations - so tentacles are pretty nice as well. Keeps those juicy opponents close to you - just where you want them to be :)

Also, if i got double (even +STR!) id go straight for block. but thats just me ofcourse.

Think I'll go STR or Block, whatever comes first.

if i remember correctly, str comes only at double. 6+6 i think.

One other thing, I'll have to forfeit my next game, got a chance for short vacation (7-8 days) so I'll be absent during the next league day.

The match between the Misfits and the Nurgle Lymphocytes ended 0-2 in favour of the Nurgles.
Not only did I play VERY badly, I was also VERY unlucky.
Well, I gave Nuffle a sacrifice in form of a dead Gobbo, so hopefully it will all be better next time. :-)

Aside from the dead player (though the game tried to make me get that too), that was me last week against Pogo.

Do I sense a pattern emerging? Does Pogo just have this innate ability to force awful luck on the opposition?
