HypersomniacLive: You are? Are you serious or joking?

.
I was trying to find the first Schultz comment I could find that said "I know nothing" but all I could find is "I see nothing" . Use to love watching Hogan's Heroes, was funny. I also recommend the movie it's based on, Stalag 17, one of the few black and white movies I like.

Although this does not confirm this character is an inspiration for Yogsloth...

Best I could come up with.

I searched for the whole phrase "I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing!", but couldn't find a clip.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Are you familiar with the films?
I'm going to go with No... there's not many films I could claim to be familiar with...
avatar
trentonlf: So what is it you think the DVDs I found on flub mean? I am leaning toward this response.

@everyone, What are your thoughts on the DVDs I found? Should I have not said anything?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: At this point, I'm extremely interested in hearing what YOU think on the matter.
Ah well, I don't want to force-feed my opinion on everyone.

But you asked. :)

For non-Americans, it may be helpful to know exactly what a federal marshall is. Basically, it's a cop, but at the national level. They don't investigate crimes as such, but their primary job is to cross state lines to apprehend criminals and extradite them back to the states in which they committed their crimes. They are also involved with law enforcement at the federal level when it does come to that. They also have one other key function.

The first paragraph here sums up their function quite nicely.

So what else do they do?

They run the federal witness protection program.

And what type of person is in that program?

Second paragraph.

So is flub Town Cop? I don't believe so. The fact that both DVDs deal specifically with witness protection, rather than general law enforcement, is what is key here. I don't know precisely what that means. Is he Mafia in hiding? Is he a Jailor? I don't know. His avatar and video post of Barney Fife seems to be a coded message that fits the general theme, though, doesn't it?

So I've backed off.

I could post a complete review of why I find him scummy, but I would actually like flub to answer HSL's questions first.

btw @ BlueMooner, that sucks beyond repair. What the hell kind of boss is that?

There you go. Wasn't so hard was it?

Thanks trent :)

So... Witness protection does seem to be the key. First thing that springs to mind is definitely Jailer, but given the unusual roles in play I think we might have something more unusual too; like a bodyguard (or a Seraph Knight), a miller, a mason (knows his witness is town), a lover... so it doesn't really narrow the options all that much.

What I would quite like to know is what Hyper asked, does he have some reason to believe yogs is lying?

Perhaps getting familiar with the plot of each wouldn't hurt.

Well, well, well, you made it, and it didn't even kill you.

Any particular reason you want flubbucket to answer my question first?

And I still want you to state your exact name/faction/role line.

I guess that 24hrs are really, really, really long in Arizona.
avatar
flubbucket: I wholeheartedly doubt the role block as much as I doubt the town cop claim.

I will gladly be lynched as long as the very next lynch is yogsloth.

yogsloth's arrogance and hubris lead me to think he's scum. He's willing to take the big gamble in order to dupe town because he's just that brilliant.

agentcarr16's "traumatized" prefix is valuable information.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: OK, it's time I asked you this - you seem pretty convinced about yogsloth. Would you mind sharing which things give you this certainty? And I mean things other than his fixation with you.
Technically I'm not convinced. Your word not mine.

What in my quoted post is unclear??
avatar
Krypsyn: If I see someone making a a possibly unwarranted assumption, I call them on it and/or ask for elaboration. It could be innocent, or it could be a slip. I wouldn't want to assume either way without first getting all the data I can.
The way I've witnessed setups usually go is 25% mafia. 16/4=4
4-1 (CSPVideoGame) = 3

So, if we are to go on the route the majority of the games go, 3 mafia is not a bad assumption. If anything, unless there is clear indication third parties or neutrals are around, there is not a big reason to mention them in something I saw as a 1 sentence assumption.

Oh no! Mchack ninja'd me....

avatar
trentonlf: snip
Was the quoted snippet actually needed?

avatar
adaliabooks: I can't really claim to be entirely blameless when it comes to name calling, but I think for me it's generally a reaction to those who act that way first (i.e. HijacK and yogs), and I (usually) mean it in fun.
avatar
adaliabooks: but if there's one thing I can't stand it's when people think they know better than everyone else (particularly without any good reason).
And things identical to the aforementioned are why I think you deserve being called an idiot whenever you're called dat. The hypocrisy... baffling.
You judge a couple of people based on things previously discussed, but you couldn't see these things in yourself in the times you engaged in them. Frankly ridiculous.

avatar
flubbucket: Did someone give a fuck about me at the time??
Legit answer? For realz?

avatar
BlueMooner: So, I called out sick for work and got fired. Yay me! I'm declaring a personal holiday and will play games. No posting today.
Uhm....Dat escalated quickly. I am sorry dis happened to you.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: I guess that 24hrs are really, really, really long in Arizona.
Class day ended on a shitty n0te, ASU played against UNM and won, decided to chill with friends after a 4 h0ur sleep night, d0rm party where I was producer got busted, frankly I wasn't there wh3n the c0ps swarmed the place, the chick I was chasing for the night got picked by someone 3lse in my d0rm, and my friends almost got arrested. After a failure of a night I decided not to p0st. Sue me!
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Any particular reason you want flubbucket to answer my question first?
Yep. I know my alignment, but he seems pretty convinced otherwise. I would like to know why. Is he misguided Town? Or is he Scum? Perhaps if he decides to fully answer we'll have a better idea.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: And I still want you to state your exact name/faction/role line.
I understand, and my apologies I'm not going to answer this directly at this time, other than to say I was joking about the "other" names I answer to. It's just Schultz.
avatar
trentonlf: I don't think the twist is the restriction. I have a chance each time I check someone out of being tempted to take any money's I find to help my wife receive cancer treatments. If I fail whatever check the mod does I take the money and the person knows they were visited if I pass and leave the money they are none the wiser.
avatar
cristigale: I wonder how important a role the money plays. Is it just flavor or more? We had to show our money (buy-in) to get on the island. Do we have to hold onto our money in order to stay? If flubb is not lynched Today, will something happen to him at the end of the Day with the buy-in gone? Do individual players need their buy-in to be counted as a winner in the game?

CSPVG’s role was Scum Pickpocket. That sounds like the scum equivalent of Trent’s role, so he was likely a scum role cop. Whoever killed agent did not steal his money; it was still on him this morning (although likely very sticky and coconut scented).

So the money could just be flavor. If the money is more than flavor, the twist to Trent’s role could be a negative utility when used on Town. In the same vein, it may be a positive when used on scum. What do you (anyone) think? If the money is simply flavor, then the twist is just that a player possibly knows if Trent visits them.

Pre-post edit: I was assuming Trent is town when thinking that through. If he is scum, seems unlikely to have two role cops. Unless there is more than one team. He could also be a third party. Do you (anyone) read the PickPocket as a role cop?
I think you are on to something about the money. I did not notice that we did not hand the money over but we just showed it and then moved on.

As for the two role cops with the games recently I am not ready to shit a theory down on the idea of ...how can there be more then one. I have learned that the games can come with any amount of one role. Take Flubs game having two godfathers and two cops.
Friday Night vote count:

3 Krypsyn (McHack, Yogsloth, Lifthrasil)

With 14 players alive it takes 8 votes to kick someone off the island and 7 votes to "no-lynch".
Deadline is in 3 days on Tuesday night at midnight EDT [UTC -4] (Wednesday morning 4 am UTC)

Bagatha Chrustie here in the Murder They Wrote house...
It's a Saturday night and everyone is drunk including your host...
Cheers!
