Ciris: You know those old RPGs where you had no map, but instead had to seek out quests on your own, without obvious quest markers and arrows and all that bull byproducts (as classic RPG lovers may call them) that are must-haves nowadays?

We were inspired by the TRUE classics when designing the forum. We thought you guys would appreciate it. ;)
Hahahaha!

That's the best reply ever to the search function complaints. Respect. :)
I connected on the CDProject Red forum and apparently over there I am known as "username_3256719" :)

Pretty sure that's not the nickname I chose :)

BKGaming: I'm sorry but I really don't care if you don't recall asking for my opinion nor care to about it. You posted on public forum and got a response. Considering you made the post and I had something I wanted to say on that issue, it was only logical to reply to you.

So you have a nice day. :)
Let me see if I can offer you a differnt POV - hitting the reply button sends a notification to the user who made the post you're replying to, which in turn leads the poster to read your reply, even if they didn't ask for any response(s). Had you not done that in this case, we wouldn't have this exchange right now.
So, as I said, please do speak your mind and comment on whatever you fancy, but please refrain from hitting the reply button when it comes to posts of mine; if you feel so inclined to comment on them, you can always quote the text and say your piece, this way we can go our separate merry ways.

Hope it's clearer now, and we can move on.

Honestly get over yourself. It's a public forum, if you don't want a reply given to post you make then don't post. You don't get to dictate who can and can't reply to you, if you don't want to reply black or read what is said then don't. That is entirely your choice.

Stop trying to be the forum police and there won't be an "exchange" needed... this entire thing is dumb and pointless.

HypersomniacLive: That's one way to look at the poor job you've done with the forum functionality.

On another note - do you happen to know who we need to contact about the new avatars breaking HTTPS on our GOG account pages?

Ciris: I'm sorry, I was just trying to humorously explain an issue to lighten the mood, since I can't actively do anything about it at this moment (and wouldn't know how to go about it myself).

In case of any issues with the site or games or anything else, support is the #1 place to go. Additionally, I'll ask internally if there's any issue we know of that's causing that to happen.
Part of the frustration is that contacting support has done absolutely nothing. I've tried it, others tried it. It does not get results. From our perspective, tickets to support about the forum disappear into a black hole of apathy. TBH, I'm excited about the merger solely because it might signal that other people, who might possibly know how to build forums, are taking an interest.

While you're asking around, could you also bring up the major issue of GOG not being encrypted? Given how easy it is to hijack an unencrypted connection, all sites with accounts need to be HTTPS throughout, and HTTPS on GOG has been broken in many ways for months. In fact, there were working HTTPSEverywhere rules, which recent site updates broke (at least 1 thread on this issue).

The lack of security here is very offputing to me as a customer.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot about the login bug where we can login, but the site header still displays Sign Up or Log In and we have to click on links until the header fixes itself and shows the Account link. If you could find someone to fix that it would be great.

hmmm... wondering if this why I'm experiencing forum issues. Top bar looks like I'm logged out "Sign up or Log in". But most things still work. Can't view my account, but I can see my saved threads and obviously post.
All right, Igor, throw the switch!

BKGaming: My only question is why the hell do we still have to contact GOG support to change a username. Considering our login is our email this feature should be in our account settings and it's little ridiculous that were still have to do this in this day and age honestly. Even if you want to limit the amount you can change it or something in a given month/year ect would even be acceptable.
Well, other users can't see your login, only your user name, so... Personally, I'm quite happy that every scammer and troll can't just change their outward identity with a few mouse clicks. Also, if people kept changing their user names, I wouldn't know who anybody was, scammers and trolls or not.
