I guess I'm one of those "SJW" types when it comes to racism, but...yeah, I really don't see the "controversy" here. From the title and pedigree of the developer, I expected something like a game where you're actually a *part* of ISIL/ISIS, gunning down American soldiers. Or a game where you're "defending" Europe against refugees. (I wonder, would they have included a mission where you have to go to Hungary to kick Syrian refugees?)
Anyway, the anti-terrorism theme isn't all that different from all of the usual Modern Military Shooter FPS out there. Maybe they'll have cutscenes with the obvious racial stereotypes for Middle Eastern Muslim Terrorists? In any case, I actually am interested in playing this, if the gameplay is anything like what they show in the trailer.
However, while I admit it actually looks quite nice, an entire game with nothing but turret sections? A harkening back to Beach Head 2000? Let's hope the game will be better gameplay-wise than Rambo: The Video Game, or Desert Gunner. I feel like the only "controversy" will be the developers' use of an arguably antiquated gameplay system.
