I tought Licurg would have been the first to make the wishlist entry :o)
Something funny. After reading of first article about game it highly reminded me one old game. Then spent 20 minutes to searching what game it was - Operation Wolf.
To found that developers themselves mentioned exactly this game in greenlight description.
Next time I should read more carefully:)

Habanerose:
I should clarify. I am one of these "terrorist lovers" by your definition and find that "this ilk", i.e. right wing fascist-lovers, actually pose a threat to western society, as opposed to IS. But I understand how my post could have been misinterpreted - my apologies for not being more clear.

Pheace: Another boring game splashed with unnecessary controversy to make it sell?
That about sums it up. *yawn*
A stationary shooter? In 2016?

I see you get upgrades, which is nice, but really, how different is it going to play? Are the same guys going to come out of the same place every time?

Just like Hatred, seems like all flash and no substance. Loved Hatred's aesthetic, the black and white with splashes of blue, orange and red. The destruction was really awesome, and the effects and fire looked really nice. But I beat the game once and never cared to go back. It's also extremely buggy, with body ragdolls jiggling on the floor after death, weapon switch bugs, and it feels un-optimized overall.

This company seems stuck in the weird niche part of the 90's. First a POSTAL clone, and now a Bechhead 2000 clone. I decided to take a look at these guys' games when they were apart of Farm 51, and I gotta say, Necrovision was one of the biggest piles of shit I ever played. The controls where so wonky and the story was so batshit insane. I just didn't dig it at all.

Oh well :]

budejovice: As an anti-fascist and a Jew, I find people of this ilk far more dangerous to western values than the Islamic State.
As an omnisexual libertarian neo-vegan, I find this whole situation to be quite disturbing.

budejovice: snip.
Well, thanks for confirming what I said earlier, the whole part about wrongly calling people nazis / fascists for not agreeing with your worldview...

Either way, not worth my time. No desire to argue politics or derail this thread any further.

I played Operation Wolf on real arcade cabinets in the 80's it was cool and fun. Another one I had fond memories of is Terminator 2 in arcade, I spend a lot of coins on it. The Genesis/Megadrive port of Terminator 2 was also well done.

If you have a tablet (Android or iPad), I would highly recommend Major Mayhem as it's really fun and colorful, well-suited for mobile format, free (the paid stuff is easy to get and not crucial) and it has lots of levels:

Um. Pegida is fascist. Whether they agree with my worldview or not.
Sigh, so they admitted that with Hatred they discovered that controversy doesn't actually boost sales much, yet they stick with a game that has nothing but controversy going for it?

Also rail shooters are how City Interactive (now CI Games) got big and even they abandoned those years ago. Way to take a step back.

That said, the graphics seem nice and the shooting itself appears satisfying. Might check it out.
Looks better than hatred, sorta feel as if it'll be more optimized. But.... Railshooters... I don't want to be reminded of all the quarters i've lost

At least, these devs keep politics out of our games, unlike all those SJWs! Oh, wait. :P

Thanks for tip. I'll check it. Though I doubt that game would be playable on phone size device.
Honest question, I don't want to be an ass, but why does the setting matter and why are you guys getting worked up? I play a lot of games that go beyond my political standpoints in various directions as well. In most WW2 games i main the USSR or Germany despite being an American. In Warhammer I play as the Eldar despite being human, when push comes to shove we all know in the lore there will be an ultimate race war between humanity and the eldar craftworlds. Does that make me anti-human? Am I a communist Marxist for playing as the USSR too?

So, a game on steam greenlight is about fighting the Islamic State trying to take over the west. Isn't that what Battlefield 2 was about? Command and Conquer generals? Every COD game?

Yeah, they're going off shock value, but it's not like people are going to radicalize over something due to a game's setting. If 'money see monkey do' was such an inevitability why haven't I become a craftworld eldar farseer leading a Panzer 4 and T34 mixed battalion?

You are right, we are just getting ready for the Drama™ :)
