Welcome, Russian-speaking gamers!

GOG.com has always been about bringing you the widest selection of the greatest games: classic, new, all DRM-free. To keep this up we need to grow, and to grow we want to reach out to more gamers worldwide. We've already unveiled a French and German version of our store, and today we're introducing Russian to GOG.com! (Did you know that it's the second most used language on the internet?)

We already have more than 150 games in Russian in our catalog, and today we celebrate by releasing six new DRM-free games - including two digital distribution exclusives and three weeklong discounts:
-<span class="bold">Galactic Assault: Prisoner of Power</span> (digital distribution exclusive)
-<span class="bold">Sea Dogs</span> (digital distribution exclusive)
-<span class="bold">Wings of Prey Complete</span>
-<span class="bold">Pilot Brothers</span> (-33%)
-<span class="bold">Men of War</span> (-50%)
-<span class="bold">Death to Spies</span> (-50%)

We have over 30 more games on sale this weekend up to 75% off: Russian-language games straight "<span class="bold">From Russian with Love</span>"! That includes not just the new releases, but also the King's Bounty saga, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and more. Everyone is invited to mingle, and it's as good a time as any to break down gaming's largest language barriers one discount at a time.

With an all-new website language, localised customer support, and a dedicated Russian forum, we're hoping to become the right place for all of our Russian-speaking gamers. We’re also adjusting our prices in those regions. For over a year we’ve been offering games at lower prices in Russia and other independent countries that emerged from the USSR, places where game prices have historically been lower than in western markets. Starting today, more games will be priced appropriately for these territories. We've decided to adjust our pricing to the realities of the market, to avoid a sense that you have to pay more to get your games DRM-free or that GOG.com games are more expensive than other stores that operate in those regions.

Just in case you wondering, introducing these price changes won't affect the way gifting works today on GOG.com.
Looking forward to more "big stuff" as hyped by Judas in the coming weeks/months. Have a good weekend GOG staff!

phaolo: You didn't read the first sentence: such trolls could do that thing even NOW, without the multi-lang idea.

Grargar: You didn't read my post. Previously, they had no reason to do so (other than randomness). With the existence of this function, they could do it just to piss off people who are using this function.
I don't understand very much your reasoning.. isn't it a ramdom thing "just to piss off people" in both cases?
Anyway, I just wanted to share an idea. You don't like it. Let's move on.

In the current way, there is randomness. In your proposed way, there is randomness+1. At least, that's how I see it. But indeed, let's move on.

vegomoonlit: Promo on main page was and this page is calling still.
"35+ RUSSIAN GAMES UP TO -75%"
Maybe it would be minor issue at other time but at the moment my first reaction was really negative.
And yes, I understand they mean only language (i hope at least). Though if I wouldnt go read this topic I wouldnt get it.
I actually didn't think to look there at all. I agree that it is a considerable screw up on part of newswriter or GOG's webdevs. It's still visible that he was careful to word the theme of the sale correctly, but some didn't put enough thought into the titles.
SELECT MORE TO SAVE MORE
Yet the percentage sometimes decreases when adding titles to one's selection, and vice versa.

I guess that's courtesy of GOG's regional pricing.

None of those games give a fair price package. The reason why this happens is because not all the games are discounted by 75% (like the newly-released Death to Spies and Men of War, which are discounted by 50%).

But of course. :)

They really should get rid of the aforementioned phrase though.

I can't remember if it appears in all promos or if they copy-pasted from a stacking promo.
avatar
ne_zavarj: So there will not be any Easter promo ?
Is Russia not enough EASTer? ;)P

Neither do I.
Just bought the two latest King's Bounty full edition. That's 4 this sale and I think I'm done. I didn't buy them at first because I still haven't played the first one but the price made me change my mind. Of course now they will be discounted even more in the next few months.

Has there been any explanation of what is meant by "New way to expand your Games Library" in the front page "Welcome Russian" banner? I don't see any more options in my Library.
Can't decide on whether I want to purchase Blitzkrieg 2 or not. It was part of the unbundling mess so who knows how many pieces I'd end up with on my shelf. =/
English, German, French and Russian... But Polish site after so many years do not support Polish language and currency. Shame on you, GOG.

They split the game in three parts. Base game + 2 expansions. Base game 2GB, one expansion 1.1GB, second expansion 1.4GB. Im not sure but I think the size of the game is now twice bigger then it was with the bundled installer.
