Is there a way to fix the font size, like in Planescape Torment? My monitor's resolution is 1680x1050 and it's hard to read anything. PST had a mod/hack to change font size. Is there anything similar for BG2?

DeanEH: I can't install BGT-WeiDU. I keep getting a fatal error: unable to find Dialog.TLK in dialog.tlk.
I'm not really sure about what went wrong there. So you installed BG1, BG2, and the BG2 fixpack? Did you extract BGT to your BG2 directory? The BGT setup program needs to be in the same directory as BGMain.exe

You can reset the resolution if you'd like, it's the only way to my knowledge. Just run setup-widescreen.exe again, and choose to reinstall. Try these following resolutions: 1440×900 or 1280x800. The graphics won't be as sharp afterward, but everything should be larger.

Thanks for your reply Gojays2025, thats what it was as you said I had to put the BGT program in the root directory. After I did that it installed just fine.
GoJays, great guide. Thanks for posting it. I just installed this today and started a new run through BG2:SoA with some modifications I sorely wanted. Awesome stuff, and really easy if one follows the instructions.
So, I installed all the mods as suggested, but once I'm past Candlekeep, the game crashes every time I go to the map. It seems to be using the BG2 map instead of BG1, and gets very upset by this.

That is strange, make sure you followed exactly the instructions, you probably missed a point or encountered an error during the process.

However, if you are lazy to start again you can use that mod : http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/worldmap, which will change the map into a huge map including BG1 and BG2 areas (plus most big mods' areas if you use any). It may solve your problem. Read the readme first.

Just did a total re-install, followed every step to the letter and got the same issue. Guess I'll give this mod a shot.
Having the same problem with it showing the BG2 map in BG1 and crashing.

Seems a little odd. Usually that problem happens when the fixpack is installed AFTER the BGT mod.

It's pretty important to install the fixpack on a fresh copy of BG2, before ANYTHING else is done.

I followed everything in your order and it seems to still be a problem and I can't figure out how to fix it. I really want to play :( (and I finally made a good character and if I reinstall I think I will lose him)
According to another thread, the world map problems may be caused by installing the Baldur's Gate II Fixpack over a BGT installation. It needs to be installed before BGT, not after.

Exactly. That's the only thing I know that causes this problem too.

If you did in fact install the fixpack after BGT, started a game, saved it, realized the problem, reinstalled BGT on top of the fixpack, loaded the saved game up again, the problem may still exist because it could be saved to the saved game file. What you need to do then is unfortunately start a new game. (reference)

I saw on another topic you listed the wrong order, on the main post is this the proper order now? That is probably what screwed me up.

Oh yeah, that was my mistake, and I apologize for that. :( I guess I was too eager to get the guide out that I didn't really double check the stuff.

It should all be in the correct order now. Sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Are there any mods that increase the UI when using the widescreen mod? I love playing at a high resolution but I hate how small my characters are and how small the UI is but the world look so much more detailed.
