This Easter weekend we have on offer a special mix straight from Ubisoft. The hand picked mix of games by the Easter Bunny includes such classics like The Settlers 2 Gold, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Far Cry, IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 and more. You have time until Monday, April 25 at 11:59 p.m. EDT to grab or complete the whole mix from Ubisoft for half the price or get your hands on selected titles from the offer with a 30% discount. Happy Easter everyone!

SLP2000: The pack is pretty nice, and 50% is not a big problem when it's only 6 games. It was mich harder to get when it was complete Ubi catalogue 50% off.

So, if it was just normal weekend deal, I'd say it's neat, but as a Easter holdiay promo it is not so well. Especially that people should have one or two free days more, so they could spend some more cash and play some GOGs.
GOG has suprised us before. They still have a day or so to put out a sale Easter related on top of this one.

Gammix: That should be exciting enough. I can't speak for any of the other games, but Far Cry for $7 should prove to be the best purchase of your life. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and definitely my favorite shooter. =)

rjspring: I remember when it came out, my PC didn't have enough 'umph' to play it... now I have the sequel on PS3 and would like to check out the original...
My last computer (which was pretty crummy by modern standards) was able to run it fine with the graphics settings turned down just a bit; you should be okay. Hope you enjoy it!

gooberking: This sale raises a question for me. My email blast says the games are "from 4.99" And when I go to the Far Cry page it says it is $6.99. Since I'm state side and the game is a rather large download is the extra 2 bucks some sort of surcharge? $6.99 for such a highly acclaimed game is still quite reasonable but its also not $4.99 (nor 50% off). Just curious about it. All the games looked that way.

sethsez: They're five bucks each if you buy all of them, seven bucks each if you only buy some.
I see.

Nice promo, I have all the games but nice anyway.

kalirion: The only bad thing about SoT is that the combat isn't all that. They fixed the combat in the sequel, but broke everything else :(.
A lot of people feel the same way. Personally I love Warrior Within but I know I'm in the minority there :)

Anyone who hasn't played SoT really should give it a go, gameplay is solid and engaging and the storyline is pretty damn good for a platformer :)

I would pick up IL-2 Sturmovik at 50% off but just don't have enough interest at 30% off to buy it. . . =)
58
Well while I have the orig cd. Nothing wrong with having a digital version of Settlers 2. Bought it. Heh.

I miss Serf City tho.. Settlers 3 is what I really want on GoG.. Had better military handling.

I bought Settlers two days ago... just my luck!

Game + 4 add-ons + 40 pages manual + 450 pages aircraft guide... Difference between 50% and 30% discount is just 2 bucks.. c'mon man :-)
BTW I wouldn't count on higher discounts/lowering price from Ubisoft catalog...That's why I'm pleased that Ubisoft's games appear on promo quite seldom allowing me to pick all I want at slow rate - one by one.

I'll pass, doesn't really matter what extras there are or if it's only $2 difference. My point was I would buy the game at half price. Too many other games that I want for me to spend more than one of those would cost on a game I have a very mild interest in playing, thanks for the opinion though . . . =)

We have seen some recent Ubisoft releases at $5.99 though, so depending on the sales they see at that price-point it's possible their policy may change.

I went ahead and got Far Cry. I almost got the pack but I'm not all that interested in Chessmaster or Driver and I might get the Prince of Persia HD Trilogy on PS3.

He did give a pretty persuasive argument, though. For $6, you could do a whole lot worse, that's a good deal of content for $7 and it's a damn good game. Unfortunately (...or is that fortunately?), I already have it, and the games I'm looking at don't have extras nearly as enticing.

If you already have a flight stick, I'd personally recommend taking the jump, it and Comanche vs Hokum are pretty much required GOG purchases for flight stick owners. Descent, Freespace, and Independence War should be too, but if you want to fly planes and helicopters, you would do well not to ignore IL-2 and EECH.

If you don't have a flight stick, though, if it was $5 I'd buy an Extreme 3D Pro just to play it with. I did that when I bought EECH soon after I joined for $3. Wasn't sure if I'd like it, but it's very good, as is the flight stick, which is a great deal better than the stuff I used in the 90's, and it's fun to play games with a flight stick again. I originally bought a flight stick solely for EECH, but now I have almost all the flight sims on offer.

I was very happy when the original "GOG Gems" run included Red Baron (as well as a $2.50 Psychonauts. I wanted a GOG version but couldn't justify paying even half price when I owned two other versions). I bought EEAH later on when that was on sale, as well as "Fantastic Journey" after I enjoyed the other two Pro Pinball games.

That's one nice thing about recurring sales. You can buy a game in a series, and if you like it, you'll have a chance to buy the rest later. :P

I see your point. I also try not to spend cash on games from my “nice-to-have” list. To many “must-have” games present on gog is not on my shelf yet. Two weeks ago I've made an exception from that rule and after 4-5 weeks of passed promos - I purchased 2 of my “nice-to-haves”: King’s Bounty and Star Wolves. And next week gog set entire Quest on promo :-(.

Really hope you are right - most of my "must-have" Ubisoft titles are set on $10. But if not … patience is a virtue...They will appear on promo some day and, one by one, they all shall be mine :-)

I'd only be interested in The Settlers 2 so since that's only -30% I'll wait.

Personally, I thought the storyline didn't make much sense, and found the combat, while technically better, much more frustrating. Also got lost too many times and had to use walkthroughs :(. But most importantly, it lacked the charm of Sands of Time.

Interestingly enough, my favorite parts of the game were the Dahaka chases :)
