    One of my fauvorites, but needs fixing

    Im so glad to see original total war being sold again after being delisted for "remastered version". The gog team did a great job making the game run on win 10/11, but that being said the performance is really bad at the moment, hopefully it can be adressed with some patches. You will be lucky to get 30 fps in battles sometimes droping even into 20fps I would recommend people try using DXVK. It doubled my performance and made the experience much more enjoyable. -Download and open the latest tarball release of DXVK with a program like 7-Zip. -Extract d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll from x32 to where RomeTW.exe is located. -If the game crashes, such as while loading a battle, ensure the latest vulkan runtime is installed. The installed version can be verified by opening cmd.exe and running the command vulkaninfo --summary. This is a guide from PC Wiki. Hopefully it helps some of you folks.

    Pre-New Year's releases🎁 with surprises, but I didn't expect to see this here. easy guys, I hadn't even had time to come to my senses before a collection of Total War games popped up :) Very good, a huge thank you to everyone who worked on the revival of the old classics. Wonderful :)

    One of the best strategy games ever

    No rose tinted glasses here, I only started playing Total War around 2019-2020. Rome Total War is one of, if not my favourite strategy games ever made and I suspect I’ll being playing it for a long time yet. The release of these games on GOG is a huge win, in my opinion. Well done GOG!

    My Favorite Game

    I have been playing Rome Total War for nearly 20 years, still have my original disc set. I have wanted this and the other Total War games to make it onto GOG for years now. Very happy this one made it with other great ones from the early days of Total War. The gameplay is still as fun as I remember it runs on basic pc's without to much issue and newer machines have always handled it well for me without to many crashes or bugs. I have played it on machines ranging from xp to windows 10 and have never run into aerious issues. The combination of turn based strategy and real time battles has been the biggest draw for me and the time fame being set during roman times of both it peak and fall has always made it my favorite. I only played the Alexander expansion once but I was planning to play through again soon so this was good timing. Hopefully we get Empire Total War and it's expansion Napoleon on GOG in the future as well. Those were the first to require steam and it would be great to get them DRM free as well. If you like strategy or Roman history/ culture this is worth adding to your library. Also just a heads up the music will get stuck in your head for weeks, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
