Pretty average

I have been playing for about 20 hours now. In summary the game is ok to play one time to kill time, but I would not replay it or wait for sequels. - Story is not very interesting. - In terms of choices - they are almost non existent apart for some very small decisons with immediate consequences. - Interactions with heroes are limited to them reacting to the above mentioned decisions and nothing more. - All interactions with enemies end up in a fight - i.e. there are no alternative ways to achieve a goal - Fights are ok in the beginning but become pretty dull after awhile, even boss fights - Maps are not bad, diverse with hidden areas etc, but on many occasions there is a teleport behind a barrier or door which means that the player will have to run a lot in order to return to such places when he opens them later on. - Skills are ok, each hero can have 4 active skills at any one time so it is nice that you can change them from the city whenever you like instead of being stuck for a whole game with the same ones - Equipment is nice - you can craft, improve and put various strong enchantments.

Good game deserves recognition

I enjoyed it. The game's fun and well made. Didn't find any bugs besides a brief audio glitch at the end of the loadings. One issue I'm having with the gameplay is that from floor 2 onwards it becomes incredibly easy. And I'm not some kind of tactical genius, my ranged DPS just destroy everything on normal difficulty. Sure I can adjust the difficulty but the game progression shouldn't be something -I- have to manage. As many others pointed out, it's not a new concept in the slightest. I don't know why the developer felt the need to push it as a selling point, when "A game like BG/NWN" would've been much more intriguing for me. Lastly, I think it's a little bit overpriced for what it is.

Few minor polish quirks, but solid!

Fun gameplay that's both approachable and tactical. If you like real-time combat with party composition and skill building, you'll like this game!

Way longer than it should have been

It started off as something that could have been one of my favourite games and ended up dropping the ball completely. Alright, lets start with the good and we will go from there. An interesting premise and setting. Nice characters. Neat and interesting locations, rather unorthodox level design. A cool upgrade system giving you a lot of flexibility in that you can always reset your skills. Plenty of loot, both to gather and an interesting crafting and development system. It has a nice soundtrack, but it becomes a bit repetitive after a while. And instanced combat system where you fight encounters in real time, however they become quite stale due to the rather simplistic enemy AI and limited encounter design. The length of the game and the developers ambition end up being the games downfall. The game goes on for around 40-50 hours. That should have been cut in half, because after a certain point you can tell the developers lacked resources to maintain quality. Encounters are basically all the same with different enemies after that point. The tone of the setting is ruined in an attempt to keep it interesting. The plot and characters fall apart in an attempt to keep intrigue and suspense. The story goes into absurd power fantasy territory and obviously falls apart at the ending because of the plot holes and an attempt at a meaningful ending. Less impressive loot the further you go. The map design becomes more stale. I cant really recommend it to the general person, because whatever things you did appreciate about the game, they will ultimately sour the longer you play. It clearly has its strong points, though. If you focus more on the combat and ramp up the difficulty you might end up having a lot of fun. There are things here that I like in this game a lot. Its clear that the people making it put a lot of heart, passion and effort into it. I just wish that at a certain point they said "Okay, lets stop here."
