This is one of the most addictive games ever! You construct buildings and create units, constructing more advanced buildings will mean a bigger variety of units. Remember your enemy will be doing the same. If you liked Command and Conquer then you will love this game. One of the best, not to be missed!
Have owned this game several times during my life and have loved it each and every time. I would consider TA on par with the original C&C from back in the day. Great game, fun, engaging. Only this it lacks is a good storyline, but if you can look past that, most modern RTS's dont come close to providing what this game does, and at 5.99 its a steal. No reason this shouldnt be in your game library.
As in title TA defined again the RTS genre. Thanks to innotavite makromanagment ideas and huge armies controlling this title is "a must" for every RTS fan. Alltho we have succesfull continuation of TA named Supreme Commander (not telling about Supreme Commander 2, dont get me wrong ;), this title still have its power and it is worth definetly to buy. I will buy for sure ;)
I think the music really took a hold of me more then the game itself but the game was fun. I really liked building a home for my units keeping them safe from the computer.
I remember playing 7+ hour games of this overnight with one of my friends years ago.
It was a fantastic game then and even now it's not to be sniffed at lightly.
The scale of this game was unmatched back in it's day and even today only Supreme Commander (which is basically Total Annihilation 2) can match it.
Huge maps, huge ground/air/naval battles, games lasting hours, this is what an RTS should be.
I like and own Starcraft II but games of that just feel too rushed but Total Annihilation, what can I say. I've been a big fan since I first played it (back when the computers of the day struggled on the larger maps with this game) and even now I still enjoy playing it (and it's even cropped up at a few recent LAN's).
Probably one of the best value for money games on GOG in terms of replayability so you really have no excuse not to own this :)
