Well made, unsatisfied Christian player
Game looks good and was well made. For that I can applaud it. The story starts out a little slow, but I could get past it. I really liked the magic system, with the orbments. Also the battle system is pretty cool. I enjoyed all the features, special attacks, the animations. All five star. The writing was good, but I did get offended once, whether intentional or not. Some people will not share this sentiment. I feel there was a low blow to real world religion in the beginning, when poking fun at 'Sunday School'. Really, it's not an issue for me most of time, but I feel these kinds of remarks shouldn't pop up in kiddie RPGs. I wanted to enjoy this like FF7. I decided to remove the game.

Trails of clichés
Which wouldn't be so bad if the game was a parody, but no it's dead serious and as predictable as it is boring. If you're familiar with JRPGs then you'll see everything coming from a mile away. The combats could have been the saving grace thanks to the pretty good skills system but unfortunately they are just way too easy. Difficulty only ramps up in the very last dungeon. To add insult to injury this is a chapter-based game in which you cannot go back to previous towns and dungeons. It's truely a shame because the world is very nice, highly detailed and full of things to discover (LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of text). If you're new to the genre or if you don't mind the clichés japanese developers have been overusing for decades now, you very well might enjoy this.

buggy gog as usual get the steam bersion
was working fine until a point i saved in the inn. now i can't exit doors won't work, can't exit or leave trapped in the inn forever and my save file ruined. throw this in the trash.
