Modern society owes much to a mystical technology known as “orbal energy.” Fifty years ago, during what’s come to be known as the “Orbal Revolution,” the invention of this technology and the “orbments” developed from it led to a period of rapid human advancement, birthing innovations of all shapes and sizes -- not the least of which was the airliner, or “orbalship” industry. Although the positive impact of this revolution is obvious, every coin has a flipside; for every beneficial device developed with these new materials, so too were advanced weapons and other implements of war. Thus, the land became mired with turmoil, and remains in such a state even now.

Enter, the bracers: an organization established to serve as police and intermediaries alike, holding above all else the peace and safety of the lands under their jurisdiction. Whenever a citizen is in need of assistance, he or she may place a request at the local Bracer Guild -- and be it monster extermination, crime prevention or even peace talks among warring nations, the bracers will do whatever they can to resolve the matter cleanly and efficiently.

Some matters require a gentler touch than others, however. When an orbalship transporting a legendary "S-rank" bracer named Cassius Bright suddenly goes missing, said bracer's daughter, Estelle, and adoptive son, Joshua, must join forces in search of him across the entire Kingdom of Liberl.

And what they find along the way could change both of their lives forever...

While it takes a while to get going and is very long-winded, it's incredibly enjoyable and leaves you wanting more.

There so much to come up in the future! This is one of the most beautiful and fun JRPGS series ever! Please, let's support this so the publishers will continue bringing this series to PC! There are so much to come!

Monolayered Character and Story

I have 31h in this game, so I really tried to like it. The combat, although simple can be entertaining, although I mostly played this game while watching streams or lectures. My biggest problem with this game are the characters. They all consist of basically one personality trait and because of this the conversation between characters get extremely tedious after the first 5h. I basically fast forwarded all dialogue. The story as is doesn't bother me al lto much as it's a simple adventure of these young bracers. However it is driven by many "character stupidity" or "HAH! You didn't know I had THIS up my sleeve" moments. I found myself rolling my eys every 10mins at this games story. The art style is kind of cute and kind of has a charm to it and as said before combat can be entertaining, although I did try my best to walk around most of the monsters in dungeons. I wouldn't even buy this game on an amazing or play it if it was gifted to me. I'm sure there are many other jrpgs one could play instead of this.

I really love Falcom's JRPGs, and The Legend of Heroes is a must have for every gamer, a great story, great characters, and story telling. You MUST buy i :) it's a great game :)

Hold off until they fix the crashes

I will revise my rating once the resolution crashes is fixed. No point spending your money on a game that isn't stable yet. As far as I'm aware the only solution if you want to run this game at 1920x1080 res. is to use a lower res. or disable high resolution fonts, which makes text very blurry. If you don't mind playing on a lower resolution, the rest of the game seems playable but I would hold off otherwise.

Droll as it can get

Found myself very bored from beginning to end. The gameplay was probably the best part, but there are games that have done it better. I'm trying to think of any characters that I liked and Estelle would be the only one; but, they did her dirty throughout. Yeah, not a good game.
