I originally purchased a 4 pack of this game on Steam. I got it here as soon as I found they had added it to the collection. I have over 1,800 hours in this game on Steam. The developers keep releasing new content updates! As of 11/2016, the stock pictures on the store front don't do this game justice. This game requires you to do some building to progress, but you can focus almost entirely on exploring, gathering resources, and fighting an endless stream of monsters. You are rewarded banners for killing 50 of each enemy type *excluding bosses*. You hang the banners for decoration, but they also make that type of enemy easier when fighting near the banner. You will want to make good use of them on expert mode. Expert mode is THE MODE you want to play in. Bosses drop Expert Mode items in Treasure Bags that you can use in normal mode. Treasure Bags are dropped for each person who has damaged the boss. Each Treasure Bag is dropped only for your character. That way everyone gets something every time you defeat a boss. Build a hut over the place you spawn at the start, you'll thank me when the zombies come. xD Tip #2 rope makes digging a giant pit so much less dangerous. Once you defeat the main easy mode boss, your world enters hard mode, permanently. Though, that's where most of the coolest and funnest action is to be had. Don't forget to make at least two worlds as the corruption and crimson biomes don't spawn on the same world. Don't be afraid to make a bunch of treasure run worlds as you might not get a pyramid on your first world and may not get all of the items you want from the floating islands in the sky. Though, you should be able to get an infinite number of biome specific chest drops through fishing. You can get biome specific crates from fishing. Though expect to not get much of anything in small puddles and without good fishing gear. Good luck and enjoy this awesome game!

Terraria is just a beautiful game, with plenty of armor, weapons, and even little accessories to allow to you double jump, make your attacks stronger/have more knockback, and more! Terraria starts out as 2d minecraft, until you figure out there is bosses? Seriously? Oof! Each boss has their own unique attacks and each of them are beatable with any weapon and armor + accessorie combination, there are plenty of potions, blocks, even making minecraft's item id list go to shame with over 500+ items! I recomend the 3ds version just to play it on the go (some features will never go on 3ds like certain bosses, but its still a really good port of the game! Terraria VS Minecraft, both of them I recomend checking out and never fail to make you super bored. It is beyond mediocore backwards! (basically, terraria is one of the best games, in my opinion, of all time, and I totally recomend it to even a small child on phone or 3ds if they cannot use a computer yet!) -Richteray, player of games.

This game is infinitely replayable, tons of content, and is the game I have the most hours on (1.3k and counting). There are few games that match up in terms of value, get this game, it simply cannot be compared to 99% of games in terms of that.

I picked this game up over 6 years ago, and have been enjoying it since, it's been a fun and addicting title, that i've played from single to multi to even hosting a server for some time.

Terraria is by design half platformer, half Minecraft-style building sandbox. It pulls both of them off quite well. Gameplay is very Metroid-esque; you start with melee weapons but grow out of them quickly. There's lots of stuff to mine and build, and enemies offer a good range of tactics and difficulty. Multiplayer is handled well, especially if you're looking for a 'soft' game for friends and relatives. It should be noted, though, that the building side does suffer a bit as you reach the later stages of the game. There isn't a whole lot in the way of automata or advanced construction opportunities, so your epic fort building project may turn out feeling a little bit empty. Dwarf Fortress it ain't, for better and for worse. There's also some awkwardness with goblin invasions and hardmode mobs that pushes you toward a small number of layouts. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes games, old or new.
