Terriaria is a game that is easy to get into. And before you know it, you are building cities in the sky, elevators into Hell and spending hundreds of hours uncovering the many hidden depths of this game.
My Steamcopy has 700h+ still I bought a copy here as well. :-)
The recipe of this game is easy: You, your tools and lots of materials to craft everything.
The game is structured in two parts completely open ended sandbox style.
These parts are normal and hardmode (which changes the gameworld and adds lots of new and strong enemies).
You "level up" by defeating bosses, which open up your path to higher level equipment/materials (stair system).
You are free to start off however you like and there is no "special" you can choose from or any classes or XP.
HP are gathered in form of Heart crystals and Mana in form of howling stars dropping down at night and you collect them.
There are many biomes with its own enemies and music, which is really refreshing and you will hate one or the other of these biomes. ;-)
The collection of weapons to use ranges from swords/tools to spears/flails as well as bows and different guns, also many many magic weapons.
Most of the weapons are craftable, but of course there are some which can only be found in chests or on special occasions and or dropped by bosses.
I enjoy the game a lot and it is more enjoyable, if you take your time and play with your friends.
I recommend it to everyone, who is not afraid playing a sidescroller with lots of depth!
Do not collect so much dirt ;-P
I love this game, and have gotten so much fun out of it from my steam copy, but I have multiple friends who have bought it and not liked it. I would look at other reviews, and possible videos which show gameplay. A large part of this game, is liking RPGs where you contribute to a character over countless hours, by getting further in the world, getting better gear, and doing all of the things on offer.
The gameplay is very varied in my opinion, as I like the genre, but if you don't it becomes monotonous, and it is essentially just grinding from start to finish for some people. Best played with friends, but by no means essential.
I love this game sooo much! ive been playing on my xbox for like a whole 2 years and it is SOO epic. im so glad that they keep updating it too so the game never looses its fun :D
