2114 年,当你从冯·布劳恩号超光速飞船的冷冻舱中苏醒时,你不仅记忆全失,而且不知自己身在何处。而眼前的一切...
It's so good to be able to revisit this classic game. Still scary, still tough, still frustrating at points, but it all comes together into a defining gaming experience. SS2 is where Bioshock was born... and many more.
Ultrawide support, smoother gameplay and graphics. Its all good but pales away when you get playing anyway. Still hooked me in just as when I played it back in 99. One of the very few where the lack of modern fidelity is just not apparent due to good level design and atmosphere. System shock 3 Arkane?
As above. SS2 is good as-is, especially with SHTUP and other mods, but here there are not only those mods applied by default, but the HUD is scaled up nicely and there's convenient controller support (maybe except saves / better weapon switcher). Totally worth of it, SS2 is one of the best games ever, and this version is accessible not only to hackers.
Look, there is no denying Nightdive did a lot of their own work and created many of their own assets for this game. But it is still built upon the shoulders of what the SS2 community created before them.
I have seen both players and some reviewers assume all changes and assets are Nightdive's doing, and not partly the work of the SCP and SHTUP. The rebalance and level changes are, in particular, largely SCP’s doing based on literal decades of accumulated knowledge.
Yea, sure all of this is listed in the credits and in the mod menu, two places a good 85% of casual players will never see. I just wish Nightdive was more upfront about their use of community content.
Especially since these mods, a labor done only out of love for the game, Nightdive were given free permission to use by their creators. I think it is rather crappy Nightdive goes and pretends this is all only their work on the store page.
