compatibility issues
Great on paper, however if you plan on running through wine, prepare for some headaches. Save states consistently break and some features may not work properly.

Runs Smooth... but
Game still the same, only minor changes to the level design. GFX have been overhauled a bit. Animations runs more smooth and the game itself runs perfectly. Only 3 stars as I must admit, I'd hoped for more, maybe a remake instead.

it looks nice for a insect..
Dont know what to make of this played a bit but after a save im getting swarmed by hybrids or get in cluncky situations. Controls and mouse are all over the place on menu's this wasnt when i first started it up.... Will try again hopefully a better experience but for now its just as anoying as a fly.

Not a very good game
This is a very, very hard game even on low/medium difficulty. You get killed very quickly and to respawn costs nanites (ingame money) which you don't find a lot of. You can upgrade yourself but the points for that are very few and very far between, which can be good but here it's just annoying. You don't get any clear directions of where to go, which I can like in certain games but here it's just irritating, the "levels" are so confusingly made it quickly becomes infuriating to find out where you need to go. The "hacking" is exteremly confusing and follow no sort of logic....oh and it costs nanites to hack, but luckily you can save wherever you like so you don't have to waste that much nanites on the hacking part. I'm sure this was good when it was released back in 1994, but today it's just...bleak. I had hoped this would be like the excellent System Shock Remake (2023) but I was a fool for thinking that. Don't waste your time with this.

No QoL
Nightdive used to add modern optional features to improve these game's enjoyment and appeal to modern audiences, it was optional and you could always turn them off. As it is, I'm not sure what this offers over the original? That one already supported widescreen and high framerates, so...
