Fun but Content-Sparse for Price

Great game, what's there is really good, but just keep in mind that it really is no-joke in early access and a lot of the features you may expect from a finished game have yet to be added. That being said, what's there is rock solid and VERY polished compared to most EA games. I'd wait for a sale before pulling the trigger, as I myself wouldn't have picked it up if not for the negotiation skills of the Merchant's Guild, but it's a very fun game.

Fresh air with great atmosphere

Great game with new fresh mechanics, really catchy and lovely soundtrack and cool graphics. You will immerse in it and would love to play "just one more turn" every time.. I really like the factions, the storytelling in campaigns is absolutely stunning. The game is completely fine as it is now but with looming addition of new races it would be even better! Would really recommend this for anybody.

Best recent game in the genre

I have this game on Steam and i can say it's the best recent game in the genre. I was never a big fan of Age of Wonders (the designs always felt a bit too bland and "neat" for some reason) but love the Homm series. The Eador games were subpar and overall, no recent game really captivated me. There is now one. Songs of Conquest has really nice changes to the heroes formula. The way settlements work is excellent, same for the magic system (which you might find confusing at first). You will sometimes sacrifice troop efficiency for better magic uses as it can be crucial in fights. Some spells can totally change the way the battle is going even though damage is not the focus of this magic system. The different factions feel very distinct too. The visuals are incredible, this is the best mix of 3D and pixel art i've seen. Special mention to the zooming when you finish a fight :) If you like HOMM, Spellforce, Age of Wonders and other games in that genre, buy this. You won't regret it.

Enjoyed the campaigns and the community boards that can be played. There is enough variety and difficulty to make it enjoyable without being overwhelming.

Great tuned based strategy!

I am impressed by this game. A well thought out way of building cities, creating armies (taking into account the unit limit and their strength), interesting hero builds. In addition, beautiful graphics and addictive gameplay. And something brilliant -> random map generator and Hot seat mode! A truly wonderful game!
