Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.
You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent.
Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself.
Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.
I've played all of Frictional's games. Love them all. They just keeping getting better. Suspense, horror, puzzles, good stories, they have all of them. I hope you buy these games so they can keep making more.
you have to play this at night.
I'm not usually in to these types of horror games, but got this one on a sale I think so gave it a shot.
and I'm glad I did, I found a few jump scares but its mainly the atmosphere that makes you always wonder what and when something will or may happen, if youre on the fence with this one, don't be, I have tried others since and I prefer this too them all
Since i got Soma for free i had no idea what i was playing here. But when i slowly realized that this was a horror game, i already was too deep into the game and got captured by its atmosphere and storyline, which was enough to keep me going.
Even though the gameplay is relatively simplistic, this game is crazy immersive and really managed to suprise me with new and interesting locations that i visited, and gave me an occasional uneasy feeling with some of the plotpoints and new characters. Would definitly have spent something in the 20€ range if i had heard of this game before.
It had scary moments, but the story kept me going. The enviroment is very convincing and well made.
I usually don't play these types of games because they scare me. Would recommend!
It's no surprise that the Developers Frictional Games are masters at doing horror, and this is no exception. Knowing that they also made Amnesia and Penumbra, you know you're in good hands (or bad hands if you're a chicken like me).
Soma is, above all else, story based. Its a HEAVILY atmospheric game that tries to unsettle and disturb you before actually scare you. It builds up tension at a steady pace and makes you incredibly paranoid as you wander around the dead and abandoned installations deep bellow the ocean.
But above all else, it makes you question your existance, and what makes you...you. It's a philosofical game more than anything else, with incredibly horrifying monsters.
