Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.
You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent.
Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself.
Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.
Fabulous immersion, exploration and atmosphere interspersed with sporadic moments of action. The story was mindblowing! This game wins on every level and in every way!
But its one of the best games I´ve ever played hands down.
The story is captivating, so is the setting. A very interesting concept all together.
I´m excited for the next fricional game!
SOMA is a terror walking simulator with a great history and a great setting that makes it very immersive and chilling.
We put ourselves in the shoes of Simon, where after having a car accident, he must go for a brain analysis.
From here, we wake up in a mysterious destroyed building where we do not know how we have arrived or why.
From now on, we will discover that things are not as they seem and that will make us reflect on ourselves.
SOMA, despite it's a scary game, has more weight in its argument than fear.
It is one of these games that make you ask questions that we never ask, but the answer could be key for the future. When Simon discovers the truth, he realizes what he once was and what he is now and thanks to the great immersion that he offers, he puts us in his situation, turning a game of fear, almost into a philosophical game.
It's weird to explain without making spoilers, but I think the best way to understand this is to play the game.
As I said before, the feeling of fear and terror is excellent.
There are very few enemies, but each of them is a threat with a certain intelligence that we must study in order to survive. The good thing is that if they "catch" us they will not kill us instantly, but we will fall wounded and we will still have a second chance.
This coupled with dark scenarios and narrow corridors with few safe areas, make it a very immersive horror game where we must pay attention at all times.
An essential game if you like horror games with a good story.
It isn't very difficult and it is very basic (like all walking simulators), but we will seldom see another similar game that can overcome the narrative and immersion of SOMA.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my bad English.
Spooky games are not my favorite type one but WHAT GREAT GAME!!!
I've just beat the game a few minutes ago and WHY did I not hear about this game earlier?
I won't say anything else about the game because ANYTHING might be a spoiler and the story is SO RICH that you deserve go without any contest.
I'd love a sequel about, where did the ARK land or the "living" inside of the simulation. O even a spinoff on the same universe. Frictional Games, PLEASE!!!
An incredably immersive experience that follows an original and spooky story built on the idea of what it means to be you. Soma will leave you thinking about the game and the philisophical ideas behind it well after you've put it down!
