Amazing game!
I never played the original Shadowrun video game, but I ever wanted to explore this incredible cyber-fantasy-punk universe. And after play it I can say for sure that it is an incredible adventure and an amazing universe! The game is very linear and you need to read tons of text. But the flavor is unique and the characters are really interesting. Moreover, the action is really good! The tactic combat is one of the best ideas of the game: you have many options, can resolve the action in many ways (is not the same to be a shooter than a mage or call spirits in your help) and luck plays a small but important role in every attack. In some ways the game can be feel a bit old and linear, but is a lot of fun to play it. And the sequels are yet better!

A nice game
Not bad. It entertains along the whole story. I like the scenarios and the art within the game. It also has a decent ability tree so you can customize your char as you want. Guns, cosnumables, cyber-world... It's a decent game I've had fun with it.

A great cyberpunk CRPG
This one is not as good as Dragonfall and Hong Kong. I see it as something like an appetizer. If you get this game, you simply have to get Dragonfall and Hong Kong. The trilogy is so epic and have so much content.

Eldest Child, Back from Exile
Seeing Shadowrun get a new, competent, great game is like seeing Tony Hawk come out of retirement and pull off a sick 900 while jumping a flaming canyon to Superman by Goldfinger. Great character customization, lots of depth to builds and RPG mechanics, finance management, with side content to flesh everything out. A lot of work went into making the setting feel like Shadowrun should feel. Things are dark and blinding at the same time, oppressively capitalist and liberating. Story is good but lags behind Hong Kong and Dragonfall in my opinion. Actually that sums up Shadowrun Returns pretty well; stands on its own feet and great in its own right, but overshadowed by the follow-ups. Shadowrun Returns jogged so Dragonfall could run and Hong Kong could sprint. Yet I still go back and replay Shadowrun Returns, it is by no means obsolete because Dragonfall and Hong Kong are better.
