Lights blur. The crowd whizzes past. Your helmet rattles against the roll bar and the competition switches into overdrive. Tears stream from your eyes and the race moves into extreme speed. Tears of sweat. The same stuff that's seeping off your palms and onto the steering wheel. Get a grip. You're sliding into a turn at 200 miles per hour and centrifugal force will only carry you so far.
This is velocity-driven, pedal-to-the-metal arcade racing.
Strapped into a personally chosen made-for-the-Autobahn racing machine, you'll scream to redefine fast in this winding 3D ride of pure fun.
Great, addictive, arcade-style gameplay
Driving mechanics so unrealistic they’ll make you wish you could powerslide like that in real life!
If you didn’t have a Pentium processor back in 1995, now is your chance to finally play this game!

This game is amazing! I saw this being played at my cousins house way back when it was new, on his pentium P120. It blew me away back then and took me right back to that time when I loaded it up.
The graphics are good, the soundtrack spot on for this type of game and the controls just as I remembered them.
I would recommend this game to anyone, it's easy to pick up and play and entertains for hours!
I spent far too much time eating up the track at this game. Insane corkscrew loops, ridiculous turns and cut-throat competition. Ah, the good old days.
This game brings back some memories.
I did have this back when it was released, and I did play it quite a bit. This game has fairly good selection of interesting tracks and different cars that accelerate, turn and handle differently with top-speed differences which was becoming a standard in the time. The differences are not massive, but some cars are just a little bit better for different tracks.
the controls are quite fast and responsive, and the landscapes slip past you at a very nice speed while you race around the track. The graphics are very good for a game of its era, and they still look pretty decent today. You have 4 views to choose from, which are bumper cam, inside view (fixed), close behind view and the chase cam. The music on the background is quite good (created bya computer game music veteran Allister Brimble), and it doesn't get on your nerves after listening to it for an hour. :)
I have a small complaint about the logic behind the power-slides. Sometimes it acts a bit weird. Sometimes the tail slides nicely around the corners, sometimes it doesn't. It is almost as if it was scripted to happen in certain bends and corners. Sometimes when braking it goes into "hand-brake" mode which locks the rear wheels and the speed slows down while you have easier time turning the car. This seems to have a fixed duration. A good idea, But sadly this tends to happen at the most inopportune moment, causing you to lose speed, and sometimes crash into a wall because of an unexpected change in control modes.
I would still recommend this to a gamer who is into an old-school arcade racing games, as this was one of the best in its time. Despite it's single flaw the game is very playable and good fun for anyone interested in old-school arcade racing.
Literally. This is my very first arcade racing game I own on the PC. And it's the best in the serie. Screamer 2 wasn't so good. I wanted arcade racer and this game have it all.
Anyway if you like screamer soo much, check out the "updated" version of this game called "ignite" on steam. The gameplay, the feel are very similar, but with much more updated, modern and beautiful graphic.
