Rogue Legacy is a genealogical rogue-"LITE" where anyone can be a hero. Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be color blind, or they might have Tourette's. They could even be a dwarf.

That's OK because no one's perfect, and you don't have to be to win this game. But you do have to be pretty darn good because this game is HARD. Fortunately, every time you die, all of the gold you've collected can be used to upgrade your manor, giving your next child a step up in life and another chance at vanquishing evil.

  • A genealogical roguelite where every death results in stronger children and a fresh new look at tackling the castle minions.
  • More than 30 unique traits affect gameplay in unique ways, such as Colorblindness, Gigantism, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

All gameplay, all rogue-like

This game focuses purely on the gameplay and the controls, as the story is just limited to the generic "hey there is something-something in this castle" sorta deal, however dont let that scare you away for this game have some of the greatest controls yet. With its pixel perfect controls, and fluent gameplay you feel that you get better as you go through, not because of some fancy upgrades but as a player just get better as it goes on. The gimmicks og this game is a random-generated dungeon that mixes up every playthrough, and not only the dungeons but every "life" you have is also random as your decendants take up the sword after you to follow your footsteps. I recommend this game wholeheartedly, and even if the story might fall a bit short the gameplay and the progression will carry this game into the indie-gems of 2013.

A really good game

I tried this game thinking it would be another plataformer like the rest. Man, I was so mistaken. I had to came here and buy this game at once. I hope the creators make a sequel.

Hard and unfair

So, you need to get money playing to pay for new uprgades so that your next character gets it easier to advance through the castle. But each time you get and upgrade the next one gets more expensive, and the game gets more difficult making it really difficult to get more money. Also, the hitting-down while falling is and horrible mechanic that will get you killed in most of the rooms where you need to activate plataforms by hitting them. On the top of that, most of these rooms are filles with range enemies. I really wanted to like this game, but it´s horrible frustrating in a no cool way.
