Rogue Legacy is a genealogical rogue-"LITE" where anyone can be a hero. Each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique. One child might be color blind, or they might have Tourette's. They could even be a dwarf.
That's OK because no one's perfect, and you don't have to be to win this game. But you do have to be pretty darn good because this game is HARD. Fortunately, every time you die, all of the gold you've collected can be used to upgrade your manor, giving your next child a step up in life and another chance at vanquishing evil.

Addiction Grade Gaming
Extremely addictive, fairly difficult.. I am currently on +2 new game. And it is still challenging. I removed the star for occasional unexplained quit ( Win 7 64 if it helps anyone ). Anyway, good game.

When hard is too hard.
Completely random. Ultrahard. Some may like it. My progress is permanently halted at level 22. No advance seems possible. After hours of trying I have hit an impass that lasts forever. Bosses cover the screen with projectyles larger than you. If you are older than 20 forget it,

Fun!
Great gameplay, fun exploration, and a great balance of persistent progression and roguelike cruelty. Be warned, it's very hard to break out of its "oh just one more try" cycle.

One of the best games I played in years
Seriously. Adictive, fun to play, a lot of content, real difficulty, lots of jokes and a lot of character progresion makes this game one of the best games this year. Sure there will be people saying names like last of us, bioshock and such, but this one is awesome, fantastic and an example for indie developers on how to do a fun game.
