Still A Good Game

This may be long winded, but hopefully it helps someone... I did not read the graphics card warning before I bought the game. I'm using Windows 10 64 Bit, Intel Core i5-7300U processor, Intel HD Graphics 620, 8 GB RAM and the still game runs well on my laptop. You just have to shut off the fog and water effects in the Graphics menu. The game does not support widescreen or my Logitech F130 xinput controller. There is a mod for the widescreen, Google will help you find that easy enough. I used AntimicroX for the controller emulation. Both those problems are solved. I still have my PS3 version of POP Sands Of Time HD Remake, and played it and this one to compare how they work. If you install the widescreen mod, turn off the fog and water effects, both versions are indentical. I cannot see a difference between them graphically (other than the water is clear in the PC version, in the PS3 version it has a slight blue tinge), they control the same, they sound the same. I'm not even sure what that fog setting does on the PC version as a result. Speaking of sound, both versions have semi wonky audio. The PS3 version has this "echo" to it, some parts are kind of hard to hear, some parts are blasted. The PC version is the same. I've Googled it, no one seems to have a fix, and I can't get it better no matter how I tweak my sound settings. I got this game for $2.25 CAD, so I can't complain too much. It still plays well despite it's flaws. It's still a great game and wonderful story. Just know it has it's quirks.

The Camera is the only real enemy

After figuring out controller remaps, you learn that there is no way to control the speed of the right stick camera and boy does it fight you on every single platforming segment. So enjoy that

No wait, let me start again.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time, is objectively a really good game. several great fights the ability to rewind time and all of the parkour/puzzle climbing are good and the story is good as well. So why the 4 stars? There are places in the game where you die to what honestly feel s like cheese, climbing a lader and bats knocked you down? Sorry bud that was just above death fall distance. Get knocked on the ground? All the enemies are going to dogpile you until you run out of health, unless of course you get lucky enough to get back up before they close in. There is also sometimes glitchiness with rewinding time where say youi want to move back just enough that you dont run into the trap you ran into, now you ran into the one just before it, or Fara shoots you or an enemy attack you had dodged narrowly now registers. All that aside however, it stands as a solid game with a good story and fun mechanics that alot of games haven't even tried to recreate.

Sands of timeless masterpiece

After a hiatus that lasted nearly a decade, I finally purchased Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on G.O.G. and re-lived the mystical adventure lying hidden within the code. Much like the eponymous Sands of Time that drive the story, it felt like the clocks were thrown in full reverse and I was ushered back to one of the most innovative and unforgettable times in entertainment history. This was a blissful era when games were made for gamers, not stockholders. When studios were bursting with new ideas, and the question was not “What can we do in this game?” but instead “What can we NOT do in this game?” As ever the gorgeous visuals make it difficult to remember that The Sands of Time came out of 2003. Every texture and source of light gently… glows… and thereby bathes the player in that romantic Arabian Nights aesthetic. Moreover, The Prince’s clothes drip when he gets out of water, he skids to a halt after a rapid change of direction, and he teeters when close to the edge of a sharp drop. Games nearly two decades older still struggle with this care and attention to character animation. The sweetest cherry on top is the engrossing story of a young, headstrong prince of medieval Persia who must partner with a resentful, frightened captive in order to survive the dangers in the Palace of Azad. It is a timeless tale filled with high stakes and brilliant triumphs. There were only two little technical things with which I fiddled: 1) I just used the widescreen adapter from the PCGamingWiki site, and 2) I used Alchemy to re-enable the EAX sound. In conclusion, playing Prince of Persia Sands of Time more than twenty years later feels like reconnecting with a best friend with whom you lost touch. Much like you wonder why you stopped talking to the person in the first place, I could not figure out why I let so much time pass before I played this again.

Fantastic game still as fun as when i played it back in the day on the orginal Xbox just takes a little work to make it even better with mods such as widescreen support, enhanced graphics, and controller support but once done it's amazing
