This game is quite impressive regarding multipole aspects. The complexity of character customization is by far my favorite thing to do in this game. The sheer amount of builds you can do by multi-classing is amazing. The story is engaging and will keep you hook, or at least it did me, for each step of the game. I must say, however, the game is quite long. I have poured more than 100 hours in it and I still haven't finished it. The town management is enjoyable and I had a lot of fun with it since strategy games are another genre I am very fond of. Min maxing and creating new town while solving problems in your kingdom will be viewed by some tedious but I enjoyed it a lot, more than I thought I would. The game is not perfect, but it's definitely worth checking out. If you've never played any previous games from this genre, Pillars of Eternity or the older ones like Baldur's Gate, you might find it difficult and be completely overwhelmed by the options offered, but for veterans of the genre I say this is a must play.
I love this game, both the adventuring mode and kingdom management mode are really fun! The characters are well written and the story is excellent! I would love to sing praises about this game all day, but there are some problems. The timed quests can be a handful, but I never had problems completing a timed quest I knew was timed. The pacing of combat is a bit off in the later areas of the game, in particular the last dungeon of the game, throws swarms of enemies the likes of which are unheard of throughout the game. The game is excellent, if you play Pathfinder, D&D, or are a fan of CRPG's, this is the game for you!
I've tried several times to get into this game, the first time I played and forgot about the game, the second attempt I got around 13 hours into the game, making steady progress the whole time. My kingdom, one of the aspects of the game that felt the most unfinished, failed because of a decision I made hours prior.
Is it cool an RPG has your decisions impact the flow of the game? Yes.
Is it cool that I would have to replay hours of gameplay because the game's character decieved me? No.
I have high hopes for the new game coming out, but I can't bring myself to come back to this one.
The gameplay is fun, combat works fine and characters are really interesting. Unfortunately the game is very buggy and there are some ghastly design choices that make it incredibly frustrating to play this game.
At least for me, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the best crpg I've played ever.
I played Baldur's gate series, Pillars of Eternity, Planescape series, Shadowrun:Returns, Divinity Original Sin series before.
Pathfinder's all of the components of the game are well-balanced.
(e.g., character build, battle system, romance, artworks, bgm etc..)
Especially, turn-based battle is so fantastic.
I hope next Pathfinder game provide Korean language.
