Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded

Feeling a bit tl;dr, so this game is: quite swell! Seamless point-and-click with humor. Reminds me of King's Quest 7 in terms of animation style and the ability to regenerate after death without saving constantly. However (!), I've been playing it on my PC, and when I tried it on my Mac, it had some issues. Pretty much anything that wasn't a static fixture (backgrounds, mostly) showed up as a faint grey box with no distinguishing features, or didn't show up at all. Considering that playing the game requires switching between different sensory tools, this puts the inexperienced player at a disadvantage. As someone who already knew which grey blocks meant what, or which grey blocks meant who, it has been a fun exercise in existentialism. Oh, and the screens take half a minute to load. So... Give it a try! Just, y'know, watch out for grey blobs. XOXO

This is LSL1 but with completely new graphics and engine. This is a remake done the right way. Back in the 90's LSL1 was one of the most popular games (if not the most popular). This remake is true to the original one as far as I can remember. For those new to LSL. The game itself has nice music and a narator. Much of the fun is trying different combinations of things or cursors on objects and listen to the narator's remarks. Most of the puzzle's are straight-forward (listen and read carefully) but I still needed a walkthrough for some puzzle's. Fair to say, the game is not extremely long and has a limited number of places to visit but everything is very well done. I personally liked the cartoony graphics a lot, very nice graphics style. Five stars from me for one of the better remakes.

The AGI original is one of my favourite old school adventure games, so I've been wanting to try this for a couple of years now. I finally picked it up and I'm pleased to say that it's a darn enjoyable little game. It's not just a mere graphical upgrade, there are a lot of new things as well as more modern mechanics and rules. Many of the old puzzles are also remixed which gives it a fresh feel. The voice acting is good. The graphics are a mixed bag and range from pretty naive to gorgeous. It took me 4 and half hour to complete without any guides, so it's a bit short for the price tag but I enjoyed every minute of it. If you liked the old Larry games, when Al Lowe was in charge, give this a go.

This remake is just great, i love it, to be honest it's my 2nd fav larry game [ofc the 1nd is larry7] in my opinion you should buy it!

I never got into the Larry games like others did. When they were originally created, people bought them, copied them and handed them around like they were some kind of gaming porn, which I thought was the reason why they were so popular. I only bought this reboot when it was in the GOG summer sale, as I didn't want to pay full price for something that I wasn't sure about. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it now, as I would've felt really cheated if I had. I found the gameplay basic, the characters and animation sub-standard, the jokes cringingly corny, and if it wasn't for the fact that it could be clicked through, the narration plain annoying. Sorry if this upsets Larry fans, but there are far superior point and click games out there. I'll just leave this one to gather digital dust on my GOG shelf.
