so much potential
I love games like this. At least i would like to. But in this game, there is just too much downtime, and too little is explained/can be understood from ui/hints. If given 1-2 more years, this could have been a great game. As is it's just okay.

Flawed, but fun
It isn't going to be the first pirate game one will want, but if you just want to mess around, do some quests, and sink some ships without worrying about worrying about other players bogging you down, then give this a shot...especially when on sale.

Even for a freebie it's bad.
Lots of bad choices made repeatedly in the development of this game. Played early and hoped they would improve it but they did not. No key remapping and bad controls. Controller recommended but the controller controls were awful and mapped poorly. Left stick controls cannons and sails. Rightstick steers. It's really bad. The story is a cliche afterthought, but who cares. The gameplay would be salvageable if the controls were better. Also if your battery dies on the controller you can't continue your game.
