Not a good idea...
I'm sorry I have to say this game kinda sucks, too slow, no dubbing whatsoever, poor graphics and a really bad combat system...not worth it

Combat is far too rough.
I wanted to love this game. The concept is incredible. The story is quite dark, very appropriate all things considered. The detective work, while basic, is a pretty nice change from the usual RPGs I play. I approve of the NPC interaction. However, I will not be finishing this game. As much as I love the NPC interaction is about as much as I despise the combat. 80% of this game is played in combat. I'm mostly into turn-based RPGs, but I'm no stranger to real-time, and I'm not above reading walkthroughs for assistance, so I don't believe the problem lies with my own personal ineptitude. The main problem with Inquisitor is that the "easy" difficulty is simply not easy. I'm spamming potions on Easy at a rate that's just blasphemous. The difficulty levels should be as follows: Awful, Brutal and Ridiculous. Started to play the game on the Brutal difficulty, and about 10 hours in I finally realized I'd best try this game on Awful instead. My character (the Paladin, sturdy as can be) survived longer on Awful, but my followers had about half the HP that they had on Brutal, thus died at the same regularity as they did on the Brutal difficulty. I made it to the second act. About halfway through this act, I found myself attacking foes more often with seals than melee weapons for the sake of survival. After hacking open a chest, I was bum-rushed by several ghost-type foes, and the result was predictably certain death. I had seen enough. If the easy difficulty was more like the "Story Mode" difficulty some games have, this is a five-star game for me, all day, every day. If combat were turn-based, and foes were fewer in number, allies greater in number, this game may even have been amazing. Alas, the potion-spamming and the frequent character deaths have me regretting my purchase and time spent on this game. I rate 3/5 for the story and incredible concept.

Nice world, abyssmal combat
Nothing of this game feels like it was released in 2012, and mostly for the bad. Which is pretty sad, since the world is well fleshed out, the characters have a lot to say (that's an understatement) and the story might get interesting. But most people won't be masochistic enough to suffer through the clunky interface interactions, awful combat and nonexisting enemy balance. And you will have to deal with a lot of enemies (some even respawn). Your weapons can break after 3 hits, spiders in one of the first zones can poison you for 5 minutes, you will spend most of the time filling your inventory with potions (one at a time, health, stamina and mana), the exp enemies give when killed have absolutely no relation to their difficulty, when you run out of stamina it lowers your overall speed....it's tedious as hell.

A tribute to hardcore old-school
Inquisitor is a tribute to times past. First, it is a unique spin on the generic roughly-medieval era setting, and instead of the Renaissance, places the game in the Dark Ages, with all its torturing, devil-worshipping gory goodness. Second, it is a call-back to the hardcore old-school games which did not hold your hand, or handed you any significant assistance to make you feel like you were the greatest hero of all. No, you have to crawl your way to success - seriously ass-kicking enemies, undetailed maps, zero map-markers, mostly unhelpful quest journal. All in all, if you want a game that hates and wants you to die, and uses everything in its power to make it happen, this is your game.

Interesting premise, great atmosphere...
This game comes with very unique premise - you become a member of the Holy Inquisition in a fictional realm, resembling Europe during the Middle Ages . Your main goal is to hunt down and eradicate heretics. So you talk to people (there's a lot of text to go throug), look for evidence (you need to really, REALLY look around, if you want to successfully accuse someone), torture suspects (something for masochists) and finally, burn those convicted heretics. Dialogues in the Czech language are great and they help to depict the immersive world and gloomy atmosphere. However, the English translation lacks "charm" of original and a little polish wouldn't hurt. On the other hand, combat isn't very good and sometimes can be little frustrating. The main problem is that you lose stamina very quickly. You don't lose stamina only when you hit an enemy, but even when the enemy hits you! If you're out of stamina, you can't attack or run and you'll die. So you will need bazillion potions. The biggest pains in the ass are dungeons, which consist of several levels. If you run out of potions in the middle of dungeon and you don't have any genies, you'll have to go back to the town for shopping. Then you'll have to go through all previous levels of the dungeon before you can continue your descent. Especially the dungeon in Act I (Iron Mines) is really big and get to the bottom can be pretty annoying. Game is in general very hard (even if you play on easy). For instance, there is no tutorial. You are thrown into the world and practically left on your own. Another issue is looks. Graphics simply aren't very appealing. If you're looking for eye-catching sceneries, try another game. Despite its flaws and occasional bugs, the game offers very unique experience of becoming the Inquisitor. As I mentioned, this game is hard and time consuming and you will need lot of patience to get to the end. But if you endure, the game rewards you with great atmosphere and interesting story set in the medieval world on edge of Apocalypse.
