Sadly the most average experience.

I came to this game hot on the coat tails of the first Ground Control and I absolutely loved the way the units and strategy was handled in that game. However, GC2 is incredibly boring and frustrating. Starting a mission and then having 40 biped mechs being launched at you every minute is insanity. I got about 5 missions into the NSA campaign and I think I'm done. With no exaggeration the enemy will spawn in unlimited units while you are stuck with using LZs that will be overwhelmed in no time. If the enemy captures your LZ while your dropship is coming in it will fly over the LZ and cry its lost. At the same time if you capture an enemy LZ and the enemy dropship comes in after its changed sides it will still land with the spongiest troops and probably really make your troops not viable in combat. All in all I'd give this game a pass. It looks great but just go play the first game if thats what you want to play.

Great Campaign, New Spin RTS

This RTS maybe one of my favourite back at that time, starting from the mission that can be called really brilliant. Even though it looks easy at first, after that the tactical movement and placement of the troops is necessary. The dropship i think it's really brand new reinforcement system, It's a hybrid with "capture the flag mode" in strategy. Because you can just capture the enemy landing zone and make them without any reinforcement, although sometimes it's really hard to do that. This drospship system also made the gameplay fast paced, you don't have to think much about the resources that is only the Acquisition points, just know when to reinforce the troops and what troops do you need. The graphics also fabulous, the sky, the water, those units, the details are awesome. The sound effects also excellent, you can hear the unit's gunshots and shoutings, also the sound of engine vehicles, although i don't really like the music, but that is just my personal opinion. Little problem for this game is that the skirmish mode, you can only choose two factions, that is human and the alien, there is northern star alliance for the human, but what about the terran? there are some nice and unique vehicles that we cannot play in skirmish, too bad Overall if you like RTS, or tactical strategy, give this a go, it may not as hard as tactical strategy you played before, but it's still challenge and worth it to try

Wonderful classic with one problem

To quote a classic. What is the most important aspect of any game? Being able to play it. And well... It is hard to play a game that refuses to launch at all. I played it back in the day and it is a wonderful game - so if you get it to work by some miracle - you are indeed lucky. To me? My adventure with revisiting this classic ended up literally before it even started. The game does not even begin to run. It tries to, and immediately crashes without any error shown. Playing around with compatibility gets me to unresponsive black screen or one weird error message. Apparently the game is absolutely allergic to various USB peripherals... Which is a problem considering everything uses USB these days. And I don't even use anything wireless, which was also reported as one supposed problem. There is also talk about various other fixes, like trying some weird codex combinations, intalling on C drive and so on - but judging from various comments, even those solutions are unreliable at best and I'm honestly not willing to keep throwing mindless solutions at the wall and hoping something will stick.

Phenomenal

I played this game years ago - and FOR years :D It's strategically and tactically challenging if you'r more of the build-your-base-and-destroy-the-other-one gamer. The graphics were extremely good back then, and they're still quite good. This truely is a game that didn't age - it ripened.
