This Game is only playable if you already know the puzzles. The story doesn't give you any hint what to do and how. You can't use your brain in this puzzle game. So all you can do is to try all possible clicks until you find the right one, or open a walkthrough and follow its commands. If you can finish this work, you may injoy the story in the second playthrough.

Truly unique game ! I have never played anything like it. Really cool story with interesting characters. I have to say I enjoyed it just because of that. It felt refreshing to play something so different and so good at the same time. That being said I am a big fan of the adventure games because of their puzzles. And in this game for /my surprise/ the puzzles are actually not good at all if I can even call them puzzles. Most of the time you have to find the right item to use. From all kind of types of puzzles you can find in adventure games this one is probably the worst especially when there is no logic. Just way too many random solutions to random "puzzles". Even when you know what you need to do to progress the game the solution is very often a random item or event where u need to do somewhere completely random elsewhere that makes sense just AFTER you do it because the game is scripted to make sense. After the 3rd act I almost stopped looking for solutions myself I just enjoyed the story !

Grim Fandago is a masterpiece in adventure games and should be played by anyone with a love of the genre. Everything - the story, art style, characters, writing, voice-acting, world-building and wit - is sublime. Easily one of my favourite games and stories of all time. Also easily my favourite game soundtrack ever - Peter McConnell did an amazing job and it is a huge boon to the atmosphere of the game world. The remaster is certainly worth playing. However, there are certain problems. There are game breaking bugs and infinite loops you can get yourself into. It took a few forum trips to resolve certain issues. Double Fine seemed to put in a low effort in testing the game. I also noticed many animation issues that didn't occur in the original. It's sad to see, years after release, that all these issues still exist. On the plus side, I really like playing with the mouse vs. the keyboard controls on the original - it was going against the grain of adventure games at the time. Other than that, the 'remastered' element are pretty mostly underwhelming. The graphics update doesn't always fit with the low resolution backgrounds. I would recommend this game to anyone. However, the remaster is quite a let down - much more could have been done with the source material. That said - it's a classic and worth a play!

(Windows 10) I was able to play about 20% of the game before I encountered a bug that ended my run: in the forest when you need to move a wheelbarrow, my character would just disappear. I read online that other people have had this bug and I could not find a way around it. So even though I was enjoying Grim Fandango's universe, I cannot recommend this version.
