One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.
Grim Fandango Remastered includes:
Repainted, hi-res character textures
New, dynamic lighting
Classic score re-recorded with a full live orchestra
An enjoyable game but at the power plant in the Petrified Forest, Manny disappeared when I went to look at the wheelbarrow. Game went to a top-down viewpoint and I couldn't move or react other than look into my pockets. And, since it had been a long time since I'd saved, I'll basically have to restart the game. Probably will just play a different game from now on but who knows.
Grim Fandango: Remastered. Need I say more? If yes don't take my word for it, go watch a youtube video explaining why you may or may not love this game. It's an absolute classic at what it does.
Completely broken game. Kind of embarrassing and makes it hard to enjoy the experience. Be warned! Not many reviews make it clear just how badly this game is bugged. You'll get game ending bugs CONSTANTLY. It's unaccetable that it released like this.
I can kinda understand why this game wasn't a big hit when it first released. It is a massive departure from traditional LucasArts games. The world of Grim Fandango is a dark, depressing, and bland one. I honestly got to the second half of the game and didn't want to go any further. A world full of skeletons and the occasional odd character... just isn't as interesting as a world of pirates or a pair of buddy cops. The setting, the tone, the characters... it all just seems like a bad choice.
The humor is very hit and miss too.
Overall, not my kind of Adventure game.
