A tropical paradise seethes with hidden evil in Far Cry, a cunningly detailed action shooter that pushed the boundaries of combat to shocking new levels.Freelance mariner Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago, a brash female reporter named Valerie had offered him an incredible sum of cash to take her to this unspoiled paradise. Jack encounters an insider within the militia group who reveals the horrific details of the mercenaries' true intentions. He presents Jack with an unsettling choice: battle the deadliest mercenaries, or condemn the human race to a maniac's insidious agenda.

First, but not the best.
I started playing this game 10 years ago and all the time I got bored with it at the same moment, when the trigers appeared. I overcame myself, and finally finished it this year. However, my reluctance to play it was justified - a meager and obvious plot, large locations with the ability to play the game variably, but there is no motivation to explore them entirely - most of the game was played in the most straightforward way, waiting for it to end.

Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 killer!
When we were waiting for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2, Far Cry came and took attention from us. Graphics, gameplay were awesome and open ended island concept was new for the FPS games. Game story is also good but game is too long. Last levels of the game is needles and boring the people. Game also has great and easy map making editor called "Sandbox". You can creat your levels as you desire. Go and buy this game, you won't regret.

Play it like Thief or like Rambo
I love the flexible open feel of this game, very well done and one of the first shooters to pull this off.
