Everspace franchise, has brought back these fond memories and worked on a full narrative and mission campaign with Everspace 2.
The only down side of the game is of course the lack of multi-player support. Not being able to fly a sortie with my friends... but as a single player game? It's a must have for anyone who enjoys space combat simulators!
I've been playing since Early Access. Lots of fun and great developers - they really care about their players.
Last major update was for free and a paid DLC is in the works.
Check it out if you like a space looter-shooter with great graphics.
Enjoyed my time, but the story could haven been a bit longer and my relationships a bit more enhanced. Romancing the doctor would have also been appreciated. Otherwise fun and enjoyable.
