Arcade style space fight simulator. What a weird concept... Nice graphicsi good voice acting, good controls thats all.
Still waiting a Wing Commander: Privateer like game since 1993.
Waste of money. The UI/Hud for this game ruins practically everything.
It does a piss poor job at guiding what you're supposed to be doing. Flying around aimlessly with no direction. Does this game even have a tutorial? The few times it popped up to tell me what to do was generic in the instructions and just raised more questions than answers.
There's nothing to tell you your speed? I guess there's a fuel gauge somewhere, it's not apparent to me, but I'm out of fuel?
I could live with this being a terrible game if it had a good soundtrack, but it's literally one of the most generic uninspired collection of songs I've ever listened to.
I now understand why so many people swear off 'roguelikes'. I don't care for them, but this is the worst one yet. Literally starting a new 'run', if I can even call it that, feeling dizzy from spinning around all the time trying to figure out which barely visible blip on the side of the screen leads to, dying, starting over? That's fun? What am I even doing? You'd think if you're given the resources to do space missions you'd have a clue what you're doing.
I am done with space games, this game and Homeworld has ruined it for me.
MAC USERS: Metal compatible graphics card needed! The page says I can run the game on my mac with OS X (10.11+), what it doesn't say is that I need a different graphics card. I know no one cares about mac gamers, so I highly doubt GOG will fix this oversight. If you own a Mac, I hope you read this before purchasing this game. This was a waste of money and it was because GOG did not correctly list all technical specifications for the product they are selling. Highly disappointing. Since I can't play the game even though my computer meets the requirements they list on the store page, I have no choice but to give a one star rating. But the rating is more for GOG than the game.
Tutorial: Decent.
Auto-Aim and Auto-Pilot need work.
Don't give me a ship and then tell me I have to drive straight into things to shoot them effectively. Steering with the mouse and aiming with the mouse simultaneusly is a foolish thing. Either allow me some tactical autopilot, or give me a tac computer to handle some aiming within a certain margin.
This is the worst of both worlds.
Computer voice - decent. My characters' voice? I sound like I am not very bright, and just jacked a car.
Lastly, the game froze up on me, tried to tab out and bring up taskmanager to kill the game. Spent 10 minutes trying to wrestle it into submission, then had to jsut reboot.
This game looks like it's headed in the right direction, but it's not worth your money right now.
