It's an okay idea for a game ruined by the fact that the enemy AI has flawless accuracy from across the map. Imagine playing an FPS and the enemy is a hacker with an aimbot that instantly headshots you from across the map the moment a pixel of your character is exposed. That's the enemy AI here. As soon as you start, they're all on you and they never miss a shot.
What this means is strategy is irrelevant, movement is irrelevant, nothing matters except killing the enemies before your shield drops. It's literally just your stats vs theirs.
This game sucks, well yes sucks big time. The good thing is discounted. Is just like that old joke, hey Cossacks we have vodka, uraaa, is poisoned booo, but is for free, URAAAA...
Lets get down to business, shall we? So someone mixed few things with really good intentions. Road to hell is paved with good intentions First ingredient was FTL with that random things during travel and way how to travel, next was good old Wing Commander space fight, with some improvments. Next thing was impression by Freelancer where you must have things just to keep up with next area and some of the flight design was added from thsi game here as well. As a final addition was Quake Arena Xaero, guessing from the enemies skill level and precision. Yea there is crafting and blueprint as well. There is slight catch thou, before you even collect necessary materials you be toast and this means that you are starting over from scratch with stock equipment. The outcome of this mixture is bad hangover. Whole game can be split into first part where some "in dont remember flick appear", next you in the space flying some junk. Two three hits will strip your shileds and boom you toast. Rinse and repeat. So if you are hard core masochist, perhaps this game is suided for you, but if you are looking to have some fun then look somewhere else.
This is an all right game. If you've been looking for a great space sim, it's not for you: this is no evochron, or freespace, or anything like those games. If you know what the words 'berlin interpretation' mean and care about holding to it, you're gonna be disappointed by this game's overuse of the word 'roguelike.' If you're looking for a really exciting arcade space shooter, you should probably just play freelancer. This is a game you can pick up and play for like fifteen minutes, have some fun shooting pretty standard enemies, and then go on to other things. I think it's worth ten bucks or so. I've enjoyed it. There are better games out there but this game is fine.
