The title says it all. I start the game and I can walk forward, even after rebinding keys, without the radio menu poping up.
Why ? Because some profligate at CD believed some functions should not be re-mapped, we might get confused.
I shudder to imagine what other pathetic decisions have been taken designing the game. What a bunch of clowns. Imagining these drooling idiots reveiving a pay check for this garbage is truly sickening.
The game is pretty even on low graph setting, at least.
The story is captivating, allowing me to explore various roles and talents, with each playthrough revealing new narrative dimensions. The characters are richly crafted, and the multitude of side quests scattered throughout Night City adds depth and intrigue.
Gameplay and Mechanics: The improvements since launch are remarkable. The gameplay overhaul has elevated the experience, offering fluid combat and intricate character customization that keep players invested.
Graphics: Cyberpunk 2077 is visually stunning. It demands power, especially at 4K or WQHD (3440x1440), but with the DLSS Quality preset, it dazzles like neon lights on rain-soaked streets. Modders have enhanced the visuals even further, creating an unparalleled aesthetic.
Open World Design: Night City’s design is a marvel. Each district feels alive, brimming with stories and secrets. The verticality and detail invite exploration, making it a joy to traverse the vibrant streets.
Performance: While performance has improved, occasional AI and DLSS issues can arise during dynamic weather events, sometimes reducing visibility. However, a quick restart typically resolves these hiccups.
Player Choices: The multitude of choices is both exciting and daunting. Navigating this complex web can be challenging, especially for newcomers, as the right decisions can lead to vastly different outcomes.
Comparison: Cyberpunk 2077 is unique, carving out its own niche in gaming with innovative mechanics and storytelling that feel fresh and exhilarating.
Overall Impression: Cyberpunk 2077 has exceeded my expectations. Cruising through the neon-drenched streets is a thrilling experience that lingers long after you’ve finished playing. This game is truly legendary—a testament to the allure of the cyberpunk genre.
10/10
They've done a great job with the world, the story and most of the tech.
But I think it was a too ambitious project for them to really polish it. Many people might not be bothered by characters and objects that float above the ground or flickering shadows with both max ray tracing and path tracing or bad LODs or many city dwellers that walk next to their look-alike.
I really like the game, but the tech issues, that remain to this day ... I cannot ignore. I must instead force myself to not concentrate on them and instead enjoy the game.
Would give 3.5 stars, if I could.
