It's buggy, but it's still a fun game. Really digging the story. I've been sticking to the main story and I haven't done much side quests. I would still buy it.
* Crouch and skip dialogue use the same button, I skipped dialogue by accident several times.
* Most vehicles I've seen so far (except V's car on the poster) are butt-ugly (I'm sorry) and not
cyberpunky at all, they look like they come straight out of the Saints Row 3&4, quite immersion breaking
in my opinion.
i don't even know where to begin. I was unfortunately one of the folks who was unbelievably hyped for this game to drop.
things that i have tried
used DDU to completely remove nvidia drivers and clean install them
completely uninstalled Cyberpunk twice
set the game to the lowest graphic setting it could go
I booted up the game for the first time, got past the sick intro to night city and into the main menu saw that I was running at 60fps. Of course i thought it was going to be a good time. As soon as i got in the game after making my character it really hit the fan i tanked down to 20fps stuttering all over the place now granted i'm still rocking a GTX970 and an i5 6500 but i have no issues playing other titles that came this year and the last. I step outside to be greeted by people walking around that look like melted plastic, Textures popping in and out as I drive past them, cars and objects exploding randomly, ai just going ballistic, crash after crash after crash to desktop i mean bugs galore.
CDPR i know you probably won't see this but you guys did an amazing job on all of the witcher games leading up to this i thought for sure you guys/gals would have gained a plethora of knowledge and experience to give us an amazing experience and much to my chagrin i still hold out hope that you can fix this mess with hotfixes even though it shouldn't have had to resort to that.
I think this game is absolutely amazing. The density they went for in this game is immense. The world design is insanely good and visually it is for sure the most dense game ive ever looked at. The map eliminates any and all issues i've ever had with many open-world games; big map but every objective is too far from the next causing long amounts of downtime. This game does not suffer from this. The combat is very well designed there are plenty of builds to make whether you want to spec into guns, melee or technophile-type combat.
The narritive is where CDPR has always shined, the characters and plot laid out are amazing and the quest design feels fresh and diverse. I have found myself sprinting through the game because I have been so enticed to see how certain points in the story play out. This is also one of the only games to make me look back on my progressiong through the story and remember specific charaters and "memories" as they were.
There are a bunch of bugs that the team for sure has been working on. I've had multiple bug patches since launch. Most bugs will be visual such as items floating in the air some will be audio cutting out on certain sounds like the car engine (that's the one time it happened to me in 30 hours of gameplay). The only issue I personally have (that i should prolly see for my self) is that from what ive seen online the main story is only like 20 hours to complete. A little different from witcher 3's 50+ hour story. Which is fine because the narritive and gameplay kept you coming back. Maybe it is a quality over quantity situation because so far the story and characters are really good.
Performance is a bit lacking sometimes. At 1440p Ultra DLSS Auto on a 2080Super/3700x I get around 50-70 fps dipping towards the low end in the high density areas. Considering the 2060 recommendation for my settings i was expecting stable 60+ fps possibly around 100fps.
Buy it no problem, you'll love Johnny Silverhand.
