Cyberpunk 2077

Unlike many other negative reviews, I honestly loved the game on release day. I did not experience any of the issues others did or claim to have, and enjoyed the overall feel that the game gave me. What I did not like was the ending, the fact that no matter what road you choose, the ending would be the same, albeit a different version or variation of it. Pros: + Gun, Melee & Cyber warfare fights are great. Love the cyber bit a lot. + Models and animations are awesome. + Lots of missions and a good storyline. + Great cast of character and good voice acting. + Variations of paths to take to complete your objective. + The adult theme can't be adult enough. Cons: - Johnny Silverhand (Sorry, but not sorry. I love Keanu Reeves, but this character is someone you either like or dislike and I disliked the persona quite a bit. I feel that at the same time, it should be an optional tidbit of the game, where choices matter, even in the beginning. Having JS stuck with you from the get-go ruins a lot of the story for me. On my 2nd playthrough I skipped all his BS chitchat. At the same time, the insertion of this character adds to the lethal ending of the MC. I get that there are variations, but oh boy was this a bad move in my books. Summary: The game should have been called Dead Man Walking to be true to the overall theme of the game. At any rate, I've played it to death several times and while there were some odd bugs here and there, the game gave me a satisfactory playthrough. Now I know a lot of QOL updates are coming this way as CDProjekt intends to heavily invest in CP2077 as a franchise, so expect a lot of fixing and a probably a lot of free DLC. To the devs: You guys rock. Keep up the good work and grow to be better and stronger together. Peace.

Undercooked gem

To start off, the launch of the game was plain and simple a complete and utter disaster. CDPR should have just bit the bullet and delayed the game, ax last gen versions and focus on making it the game they wanted it to be without the restrictions imposed by at the time already ancient hardware. But alas the launch happened the way it did and we all remember the anger, memes and disappointment. I was one of the people that cancelled their preorder after the final delay from Oct 2020 to Dec 2020, there was something brewing and I wasn't going to waste money on it... Two years later, buying the game at half price with all the patches, reworks and additions it's a damn good game that still falls very much short of the vision originally presented. But the core of an amazing game is there with fun combat, open world that actually is not tedious to traverse and explore, story that takes twists and turns towards several endings that each have place in the narrative and make sense and not to forget a very colourful cast of characters that had me gripped well past the credits roll. At the time of release I would have not even probably bothered to play the game past act 1, most likely wouldn't have been able to given the state in which the game's been released. But now two years later with all the work done on the game to give to the players what they wanted in the first place and more in the future with expansion and further patches and reworks, it's a game I'd recommend. Let Cyberpunk 2077 just be another reminder that preordering videogames is kinda dumb and that developers need to get at least 99.5% of the game right on release because what's the point of releasing a game if the development has not finished and all you'll get from the community is ridicule and anger from paying customers.

An amazing experience

The gameplay is great, have an enormus ammount of build options from melee only, to just a full on hacker that is never dettected and everything in between (gunslinger, assault rifles, shotguns, grenade expert) The open world if filled with details and activities, one of the most immersive games i've played. The writing is amazing, making you take tough decisions, and have some existential crisis. Overall a great game, specially with all the new patches and content to come.

Best game on the market

I've played plenty of single-player action RPGs, my original favourite would be the Mass Effect trilogy, but this has surpassed all my expectations. The NPCs may not be as well developed as GTA V, but this game is the best game I've ever played. The largest, most detailed environment, with the biggest scale I've ever seen. It feels like a living city. I pre-ordered it for PC, started playing on launch day and have amassed 1605 hours in the game. Despite the early glitch or two, this game is far better than people are giving it credit for. The updates we've seen and the dedication from the dev team to fix the issues the community has shared is commendable and has been successful. There has never been a better time to play this game. Now for my criticisms: 1) The life paths only give you about 15 minutes of introductory play and then for the rest of the game the only thing they impact is a few non-essential conversation options, they don't have much weight, with a few small exceptions when choosing the corpo start and corpo end in congruence. You'll see. 2) There are a few in game items that you can pick up in game that seem to suggest some quest importance that do not have a corresponding quest. Indicating that the quest they corresponded to was cut from development. 3) My biggest pet peeve is the lack of clothing options for V compared to the clothing the NPCs are wearing. This seems like a superficial gripe, but there's nothing worse to me than seeing an amazing outfit on an NPC and searching all over the city to find the same item only to find out it's not available. Especially for female V. Female V's clothes are so man-ish. Very few feminine options. 4) On the same note, the clothing stores in game, you never know where to find anything you want and have to search the whole city and fast forward time over and over to review their whole stock. Overall my gripes are small. This is my favourite game and I'll buy all upcoming DLC.
