Finally the Game We Should Have Gotten!!

So let me start by saying that I have been playing the game since its initial launch in 2020. I was one of the poor saps who preordered on last gen consoles, and then immeditaly repurchased on PC. I also have loved this game from the beginning, despite all of its flaws. Of which there WERE many.. But it's only now, 3 years after release, with around 700 hours logged between Xbox and PC, and two 100% playthroughs that I am leaving my review. The reason being that the game finally feels like it is in the state that we were expecting at launch. It's technical state is uncomparable with any other open world on the market, not only in beauty, but in the little details scattered throughout Night City. Try to find Neo ;) The police AI is an awesome addition, though you have to work for it if you want MaxTac to show up. The driving and gun-play feel much more refined, and the perk trees have been completely redone. This isn't even to mention the galore of little changes littered throughout the game. Some things are as small as slightly altered lines of dialouge, and some are as impactful as a full animation up-lift for Johnny Silverhand. Is the game perfect? NO! Is it in a state that I can recommend it to anyone who loves these types of games, genres, or studio? ABSOLUTELY!! The developers have stuck with the game and accomplished a redemption arc that hasn't been seen in the industry since No Man's Sky! If you held off on this for the last 3 years due to the bugs and crtisisms, then now is the time to jump in and test the waters out. I promise that you're in for something truly special.

Fantastic experience these days

I put off purchasing and playing this game for ages, finally getting on board with the release of Phantom Liberty and mostly playing on the 2.1 update. The game is stunning all around. Graphically fantastic, great story, and enjoyably deep combat mechanics. The boss encounters are a heap of fun, and I don't mind dying to them numerous times because in most instances it feels like the failure is on me, not any random glitches. The game still has bugs to encounter around the place, but most of the time they're just small oddities rather than anything game breaking. They didn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I still feel like the game is a bit incomplete. The lack of consequence for many choices, and the lack of use for many items make it feel like there is still more vision for this game that CDPR didn't get the chance to fully realise. This leaves a bit of a hollow feeling sometimes, like I'm regularly finding the edge of the facade where there's nothing more to see. At least there's still plenty of other interesting things to do, and basically everything (quests, etc) that you do get to engage with is a lot of fun. I never feel like this game is wasting my time with excess padding. I'm glad I didn't play any earlier and am getting more or less the complete experience from the studio. Definitely had a lot of fun with it so far!

An Utter Failure.

Terrible story with a poorly written plot, annoying main character and plot holes. Also completelty fails to show corporations like Arasaka as the antagonists. Characters getting no development, either they show up and are just there or die and you forget about them asaide from maybe 3 characters. You already know what will happens to Jackie since they showed it in the ads. Bugs still here, after 8 years of deveoplemt, and 4 aditional years to fix it. Broken mechanics like melee combat where the enemy just gets to ignore all of your actions and phase to you. The compnay lying to both consumers about features and stock share holders about how the game was doing. Combat balanced in the worst way possible, just upping their HP and damage. An overpriced DLC that's alright, but you need to play over $100 to play it since you need the game itself to get the DLC. One good DLC doesn't fix any of the issues I listed. Most missions just being "Go here and kill or upload/ download or rescue." Unironically, I view Fallout 4 a better game over Cyberpunk since at least you can mod that game to fix its issues. And I despise that game. In other words, do no buy this game unless its heavily discounted wher you pay maybe $15 for the game itself and DLC.

Can't stop playing it

The graphics are amazing. Runs smooth on RX5700XT with Ryzen 5700X and 32GB of RAM. The story is amazing. I love Johnny Silverhand's character... I just can't stop playing this game.
