I stopped playing after 10 hours as I couldn't find an RPG; just a very poor shooter against bullet sponge enemies. There's some well-executed scripted sequences, but you have no agency in them, you are just watching.
It has been three whole years since this game was released. I bought into the hype and got the game at launch. It was a huge dissapointment with a shallow world, riddled with bugs, and with barebones RPG mechanics.
When 2.0 came out, I fell for the hype again, bought Phantom Liberty and started a new game. Maybe 5 hours into the game I ran into a gamebreaking bug where V is permanently invincible and I didn't notice it happening early enough because I was playing a stealth build. Now none of my saves are without the bug which means the game might as well have deleted all my saves for all the good they do. I spent about 30 minutes trying to fix it in game, but V is literally locked into God mode. The only fix is to download some shady ass savegame editor off Github and remove V as a God mode character, and at that point I just don't care anymore. This game is just not worth the trouble.
I refuse to start a new game and play the boring ass act 1 all over again. Oh and the mission "The Gift" is also bugged and cannot be finished. This is all in the first 5-6 hours of the game. If I found a game breaking bug and a broken quest this early in the game, I have no hope for the rest of it being any better. Good job CD Project Red. You fooled me twice, shame on me. You won't be getting any money from me ever again. I don't care how good your future games are. If I ever buy a CD Project Red game again, it will be for 1$ on G2A.
Super happy that it's been ported to the Mac.
The Devs keep updating it and it now even has autodrive feature so you can sit back and relax and let it explore the city. Probably my favourite feature.
The only other features I'd love to see would be a third person perspective mode and auto run or auto walk.
I had gamebreaking issues (sudden crashes, having to reload due to softlocked quests) on a PC with higher spec than next gen consoles. What antagonize me most is that CDPR said that the game was finished half a year ago and just needed polishing. Well that turned out to be untrue.
Might buy it in the future hopeful that I can look forward to a better experience when they sort the bugs out.
Creds to GOG for the professional handling of my refund request.
