Looks great and feels great to play

Game ran perfectly fine on Linux through Lutris. I hesitated in buying this game due to the top reviews on GOG being warnings of DRM. Though looking through the forums, the issue has been resolved. I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs either. Gameplay: The two distinct parts of the game are the village management and dungeon crawler. Both halves do a good job of motivating the other. I think the best part of the game is how seamless they interface. Running low on materials/food motivates you to go out on crusades, and during crusades you unlock stuff for your cult. Developers: It was genuinely exciting to see the new free DLC release the same time on GOG as the Steam release. I know the general sentiment is that developers/publishers tend to treat GOG customers as second-class citizens. I saw the previous review mark down points due to the DLC release advertisement. It's definitely an odd choice to show new players the trailer at startup. The DLC arrived when I was about 80% done with the main game, and seeing the trailer hyped me up so much. Overall a super charming game that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Good balance of difficulty throughout the game.

a wonderful experience to play

so before starting, if you have fear of that drm thing in the other reviews, do not worry, they removed it as i was able to finish the whole story without a hitch, so to make it clear, the story is nice and doesn't take too much to understand the world of the lamb alongside how it work which make it great to listen to, the side characters are for the most part very interesting in their own way's like ratau being the previous bearer. the gameplay has a decent loop between action combat and base management, do not worry as both side are well peppered with great combo's AND great way's to manage the cult you have, the game style is absolutly adorable and make the encounters with the monsters EVEN more impressive plus the lamb do look boop-able

Very buggy

Very buggy game. Keep getting trapped in a quest dialog that it will not allow me to accept, have to process kill the game.

Style over substance, big time

Cult of the Lamb used a lot of visuals and very little gameplay in it's advertisement and that is for good reason. The artstyle is offensively edgy, as in 14 year old internet edgelord level edgy. In many areas it clearly goes for a "Happy Tree Friends" kinda style, but combined with the very much "dark for the sake of dark" tone of the game, it really just shoves the "you play the bad guy" message into your face. The game is pretty repetitive, it's a mix of a basic dungeon crawler and a basic management game, neither of the two aspects has any significant amount of depth to it, leading to the game becoming busywork less than half into the playtime. The game has surprisingly little lore to it, tons of themes are mentioned briefly and never explored upon. Most of the game's story has no real background to it, it's just there and that's it. All in all it just seems like there was a ton of potential wasted, both regarding the story and the gameplay and as I said, less edgyness would have probably made for a better atmosphere.

Amazing hybrid game

This game is Basically Don't Starve (artwork + base management) with a dungeon crawler additions (random weapons + cards) with great background about managing of your cult. Overall I recommended, but this game has some flaws. Pros: + Great artwork, + Interesting combination of different games, + Managing of your cult, + For my playthrough not too many bugs, + Good soundtrack, + Dungeon Crawler mechanics. Cons: - Dissapointing roguelite elements, if you like this type of games, - Later on managing of cult do not give fun, - Not too well optimized in terms of PCU usage, - After beating game there is not too much to do. Overall solid 20-25 hours of game for a quite small price.
