Worth it
I think I was relatively lucky - haven't had a single crash (yet) or any game breaking bug. What's in there from a technical standpoint is pretty good. Doesn't feel polished, but it's Early Access and fixes seem to be coming. In terms of story, I admit I haven't made much headway. After the fairly bizarre amount of time spent on character creation I wandered about some 6-7 hours-ish, then switched to a new character just for the hell of it. Admittedly, I was hoping that the story characters would be available at launch, but they make for *interesting* companions. Personally, I like when it's hard to please your companions; not just an appropriate gift-exchange for instant-friendship. From the reactions I've got from them so far, there might be plenty of strong opinions around. I'm happy, though this might not be good news to everyone. Coming to the BG feels (or lack of it). I didn't go in expecting BG2, didn't seem like that would happen based on the gameplay vidoes shown by the devs. And for me that doesn't take away from the enjoyment. I love BG, NWN and Divinity and so far this hybrid has been really fun. Lastly, the price: personally I'm glad I went ahead and bought it now. As long as content truly keeps coming in, it seems worth the price. The only reason I even bring this up, because there seems to be a number of reviews commenting on nothing but this aspect. And to that - well, to each their own, but no one forced me to buy it, though I can understand why someone would prefer to wait for a finished product.
